Heheheh it’s HIM THE ULTIMATE SPUNGLY

Born on a frozen tundra planet far away from the nearest galactic outpost, Jac spent the first few decades of his life nestled between snow and ice and the unforgiving water just below his feet.  He grew up a sheltered life of relative solitude with his parents and siblings, on an unforgiving planet with a wind so constant and harsh that it had made its surface barren of any defining features, eroding it down into a flat, icy plain where not even the roll of hills could be found.  Trees came in tight, clustered patches that offered rare solace from the elements, and it was in one of these patches that his family made their home

A few other Browbird families lived nearby, offering conversation and trade whenever their paths crossed, which wasn’t very often at all.  In fact, the only time they ever crossed any other living beings were during their weekly treks to the frozen lake where they’d spend hours picking through the ice to the harsh, frigid water beneath to fish for what they could.  The ice and those fish were Jac’s life for many decades, more than he’d ever like to recall and certainly more than he’d ever admit now

He doesn’t talk about that life much, or the people he may of left behind.  Not that anyone would guess he ever had anyone in his life that could halfway tolerate him

Jac’s as chaotic as they come, with a wicked smile like a scythe of impending destruction and the manic wherewithal to wield it at anybody who comes close to him.  Jac seems to be fueled by seeing how far he can push everyone around him to their breaking points, making it a game to count how many offensive jokes and personal jabs it takes for someone to snap at him.  He’s crude, rude, and has a laugh like a drunk hyena on the best of days, and he’s a dense furball of relentless fury on his worst.  But somewhere, deep, deep down, there’s a man who just wants so terribly to connect with others and has no idea how to.  It just seems easier to act like people expect him to.  Not that they’re entirely wrong, of course

it simply makes him the best at what he does, at least that’s what he always likes to say!  Jac’s somehow gone from wide-eyed child of the tundra to something hungry and crude, and he’s currently found a job for himself working for a company whose reputation and actual motivations are usually marked in the fine print of countless legal accusations where they always seem to get off scot-free every time, but this certainly doesn’t prove their innocence.  Luckily it isn’t in Jac’s nature to care, he’s more than happy to hop in the company voyager ship they lent him and blast off to whatever backwards planet they need him to go to, always to collect some sort of item whose origins and purpose are anybody’s guess.  Just not Jac’s, since he certainly couldn’t care in the least.  Nope, not even when the things he’s collecting turn from metallic to more organic and immoral in nature

At least he’s got his unwilling partner in crime by his side who, after getting saddled with him as a company partner for training, is now contractually obligated to journey the cosmos stuck to his hip.  This may end up turning to places and feelings neither of them had ever imagined in their wildest dreams
