Moroni is Anselm's girlfriend/best friend's brother. Moroni is 7 years older than him, so he's a bit intimidated by him, but otherwise, it's okay. Anselm finds Moroni cute when he tries to speak German. The first time he referred to him as "mein Bruder", he felt so validated he nearly cried.
Pureen is the "wicked witch of the forest" who is threatening Moroni's town. He doesn't know who she is, where is is, nor what she looks like. The only thing he knows is that he has to get rid of her as soon as possible.
Moroni is the main threat to Pureen's life: the mayor who tries to catch her and get her burned at the stake for being a witch. She doesn't know him personally, but still naturally despise him.
