"Angel Game"--It's said to be a game where one could gain the ability to control powerful elements by having a magical, circle-shaped symbol on their left hand called the "Angel's Heart". However, it was discovered that the price you pay to play this game is by having a certain "misfortune"; and that alone became the reason why the game is frowned upon society--saying it's the source of these misfortunes or the sign of an upcoming war between mankind. One day, Kokoro found herself owning the rumored Angel's Heart...after facing her biggest loss...

Kureha first appeared someone who visited the Tamahara town for a certain purpose. With his unknown past; he's a curious teenager who's on a journey to find more about himself. Appears to be a student from the Angel Gaming boarding school; St. Angel.
Personality
Kureha is often mistaken as someone reserved and cool-headed at first glance, but he's actually the type that tends to keep quiet about himself and only act as his usual self once he familiarize with a person. When he finally opens up, he's actually a boy who's very honest, naive and innocent; almost everything he does comes with a good intention--which is something one would not expect considering his "Heart" represents the darkness among any elements. Almost childlike, he seems to be inexperienced with even the simplest matters; which is the reasons he likes learning, reading, asking questions to everyone around him and trying out new things. Once he discovered a new piece of information or clue, he won't give up until he finally seek the true answer--although, that part is also why Kureha can be a bit forceful to himself and to others.
Interestingly enough, despite Kureha's gentle image and strong dislike towards fighting--he doesn't take Angel Gaming lightly and is even acknowledged as a strong Gamer...that sometimes people commented that Kureha acts quite differently when he's serious or when battling. Kureha even mentioned that the sole reason he participated in Angel Game is to find his memories, and his strength is not something he wanted because he never intent on hurting others.

Backstory
One of the most obvious sign of misfortune for Kureha is the fact that he once faced a memory loss--either he actually have more misfortunes or not, it later became one of Kureha's main goal in the story to search for the true reason on why he's considered "unfortunate"..
View spoilerKureha's misfortunes are more than just a memory loss. Before the incident happened, Kureha was running away from his older brother and his father; who's revealed to be the person who caused the death of Kureha's mother and stepfather. His father ordered his henchmen to end Kureha's life, with his head being struck with a hard object. Kureha did survive, though with the price of a memory loss. Not knowing anything that happened, Kureha obtained his "Heart", and he was adopted by his brother (again) as strangers that never met each other.
Current story
Most Angel Gamer seek what is their purpose in life after becoming a Gamer--but Kureha is the opposite. He wanted to know his past life before the day he became a Gamer and the exact reason why he became one--and willing to do anything until the day where he finally solved the biggest riddle about his true self. By that means, he's willing to take various assignments and participate in battles (that he disliked) solely for one purpose.
Kureha first appeared as a rival to Kokoro, but also as the first person who taught her the rules and basics of Angel Game. Starting the 2nd arc onward, Kureha's story was separated in his own point-of-view and route, making him as the secondary protagonist that alternates with Kokoro.

Facts
- His last name, "Kurosaki" means "black; road/cape".
- His first name uses the kanji for "nightfall/dusk; feather", although "Kureha" also generally means "red leaves" in Japanese.
- Kureha really enjoys visiting convenience stores to the point that his long term dream is to try every foods/drinks that are available there.
- His favorite spot in his school is the library; he could stay there for many hours during free time and finish a couple of books in one sitting.
- Kureha was originally designed and created as the typical "cold-hearted rival" character in mind, but his personality was changed into a more friendly rival type to avoid clashing with Reika or Rai.
- His birthday is also the series' anniversary date.

Kiyo Tsukimori
Close friends
One of the first person that Kureha met upon waking up from amnesia. Because of Kureha's naiveness, he's often seen being taken care and guided by Kiyo in anything. Kureha is also pretty much the only person who can tolerate Kiyo and genuinely admire his strength. They both share the same class.
Saki Nagashima
Friends?
Despite sharing the same class and room, Kureha only began interacting with Saki only recently. As they both shared the same interest in reading and studying, Kureha often seeks Saki for his knowledge in a lot of topic such as music and books, even if Saki often denies Kureha's kindness.
Kokoro Hidamari
Friendly rivals
Kureha was the first person that taught Kokoro on the basic rules and ways to participate in Angel Game. Even if their meeting was short, Kureha still acknowledges Kokoro's strength and improvements, treating her as someone who's both worthy as a friend and rival.
