Personality
[Jin is a polite and mild mannered man, cool in the face of adversity and very hard to anger. Or so you would think, the stoat is an absolute master in keeping his emotions under control for as long as he can manage. Taught from an early age to be a people’s pleaser he will greet any circumstance with either a smile or a poker face, doing what he must first, then feel his feelings later if anything. He is a hard worker, obsessive even, putting duty over pleasure or health; countless nights have gone with this man working late, not knowing when to put something to rest. Anxiety is his best friend, learning how to work with it and use it as motivation to keep going, though this does not mean it cannot control him at times. He can be a little harsh and critical of the people working with/for him but it is not his intention to be hurtful.
It’s of no surprise to anyone the man is very stubborn and the politeness will turn to curtness after poking that nerve, over and over. He is usually a no nonsense man, silliness and goofing around is saved for those in his innermost circle. A tough position to earn, he will guard these people with his life. He is extremely reserved about his personal life and one way to annoy him is to try and pry any information he keeps behind closed doors.
All in all, Jin is a man with a serious resting bitch face and heart of gold under it. All you have to do is slowly chip at the ice, cautiously, as there’s a very tender filling to that body of stone.]

Domains of Spell
Jin can focus his magic on a person or an object to sense the magic in them. In the case of people he can find the domains the person is capable of wielding and their proficiency with them. In the case of an object he can sense the domains of any magical properties it might have or if they have been imbued with specific magic (like curses or protections).
If needed he can then absorb one of these domains for a short period of time, in order to use it himself. What he can do with the domain is not dependent on how the person he has taken it from uses it. For example if a Fire user can only generate warmth he can still generate flames with them, but the intensity will depend on the proficiency the target has with that specific domain.
It’s important to note he cannot render magical objects common or absorb magical barriers, his spell only copies the domains and magic from them.

By using his long claws like needles Jin can poke and prod on a target’s body to bring up their centers of energy (chakras) as colored circles on the target’s body, almost like moving tattoos, and inspect their state.
Once visible he can touch specific chakras to unlock stuck energy in order to buff the body , giving muscles of the area a significant boost, like making the target stronger for the duration of a battle or minimizing the feeling of pain by gently numbing the nerves. He can instead block certain chakras, stopping or slowing the flow of energy in the area, for example a feeling of cramping, complete numbing of the muscles to stop the target from moving with ease or even making the target feel physically weak.

With glowing eyes Jin can analyze his target, reading their intentions or how truthful they really are. If harmless and/or candid his eyes will just lose the glow, if deceitful or with malicious intent his irises will flash red for a couple of seconds.
He can then create an object that is best suited to deal with the target or the situation involving it. The object can vary from weapons with magic meant to repel or combat specific attacks, shields or even everyday objects like keys to open any stuck door or a cute little piece of chocolate to deal with someone with hurt feelings.
This spell is mostly used during PR events, to make sure no one is there to mess with his kids or to check for traps and dangerous objects in work locations.
Story
Seongjin is the fifth, youngest and only son of the Kwon siblings. As the only male in the family there were great expectations put on him since he was a child, most if not all of these expectations came from his father. A cold, callous man, who treated his children and wife as assets and means to achieve his ends. The family was well known back in Meihua Xing as one of the frontrunners in the tech development businesses in the city on his father’s side as well as the devoted old blood from his mother’s martial arts specialized family.
As a child, the young stout started his training with his mother. Unlike his father, his mother was a beacon of light to him. Loving and patient, the woman made sure to teach her son about the importance of balance: mind, body, soul. It was a constant lesson during his martial arts training. Wise Mara blessed mortal’s minds, giving them intelligence, elevating them from the simple creatures. Mighty Chava blessed mortal’s bodies, to overcome obstacles and have the drive to fight through life. Earnest Haldisa blessed mortal’s souls, giving them the tools to create bonds with others and with the world. Like the divine trio, mortals had to keep balance within themselves in order to find peace within themselves and find true happiness. The child was enthralled with these lessons, devoting his small body to the training and giving thanks to their gods for the gifts received. It didn’t take long for his mother and sisters to realize the boy was gifted, picking things up extremely fast.
Unfortunately his father picked this up as well. It wasn't just martial arts where the boy was proficient, whatever problem and new situation you put before him he would find an answer and quickly excel at it. He could go through books like they were candy and after a few tests, it was declared that he was a prodigy and would be sent to a special academy in Aethinia, where they could properly cultivate his mind. This was, of course, his father’s decision. The kid was sent away to become a “worthy” heir to his father, completely disregarding his or his mother’s feelings about it.
It was a hard time for him, being far younger than his peers and away from his loving mother and sisters. Things turned for the worse when he received the news of his mother falling ill and quickly succumbing to her illness. Jin’s lessons kept playing in his mind. Nourish mind, body and soul. But his soul ached, feelings hurt and stopped him from being able to focus on the other two. He came back home for the funeral, where his father would talk to the still young boy telling him to put those lessons behind. Emotions would do him no good unless they were means to an end, fake a smile for a crowd and earn their trust, fake anger at your enemies to cause fear. The boy was all too eager to close off his real feelings, as they did nothing but hurt and this is when things began to change.
With his brilliant mind and his newfound way with people, Jin got through college during his teenage years. He was still very young and… well… profitable. He was good with businesses, good looking and had a good voice. With the ever rising idol market, why not throw the boy there? Sure. It was decided, Seongjin Kwon was going to be an idol, become famous and bring more attention to the family name.
The industry was hard, especially for someone so young. While he was good enough to get some attention he quickly realized how much he hated doing it. He wasn’t a social butterfly, being around people faking smiles and singing praises to him tired him down. He wasn’t fond of dancing, he hated being surrounded by so many harmful substances and the constant berating from his father as well as trainers only made it worse. His anxiety levels began to spike and his body wasn’t taking it well. He looked incredibly unhealthy from lack of sleep and proper meals. He had to get out of this fast, but doing so would mean cutting ties with his family. Fortunately he had earned and saved enough over the years to be able to do so. Was it a much more humble living than what he had back in Meihua Xing? Yes, but his peace of mind was a priority as well as cutting the abusive relationship he had with his father.
So what now? He was already in Jadeville and he knew the business… What if he worked behind the scenes? His name still held some weight in the industry so why not? He pulled some contacts and was hired in a production house, a new band was being formed and they needed staff. And so Jin went to them, learning about them all and serving as an interpreter between the kids that spoke different languages. The group was not picking up and there were talks of just dropping it but… he grew attached to the project and against his better judgment asked if he could pick it up instead. If it worked they would have a best-selling group at their disposal, if it didn’t he could be let go of the company and there would be minimal loss. Once the offer was accepted he put his hands to work, finding two more kids to add to the roster and Shoot for the Stars started to pick up traction.
It was amazing how he started to grow attached to these kids and the crew working with them. It was like having that family again, that bond and closeness that let him open his emotions just a little… It was this what changed his life once again. It took some time but he found a partner he could fully rely on, someone to pull him back when he was too overwhelmed to carry on and most importantly someone that helped him keep that balance he once promised his mother he would have. Life was good once more.
Moving to Arcana
With the success of the band tours came and went, exhaustion eventually caught up. The kids asked for a hiatus, just some time away to relax, do something else and keep their own mental health in check. It was just fair to allow them that and so they went away… but it didn’t take long before their manager started to miss them, not that he’d admit to it… it was with his husband’s suggestion that they decided to follow them into this interesting island. See if they could find some serenity and a change of pace, a place where they could be a simple family.
