A demon who only appears to those who are on their way to their life of corruption, warning them the consequences and the realization to madness until they're willing to travel to the depths of hell.

Mephisto's keen sense allows him to discover the corrupted, both mortal and immortal beings.
He has no plans to halt their plans and neither wants to be involved in their situation, but he'll accompany them until they meet their unkindly demise or a personal resolution has been made due to unforeseen circumstances.

But out of boredom, Mephistopheles also wanders around several universes collecting the eyes of the deceased or corrupted individuals and creatures.

About

A charismatic man, Mephistopheles is able to both charm and belittle those he is speaking to. Always calm and detached, he doesn't believe in things such power and revenge and anything that is considered injustice or righteousness. He is considered to be a cold man, but is fascinated by human kind itself - his eyes are always watching how humanity works and to why they do so. Mephisto holds himself in high regard as a man of class and talent, and is a rather dark-minded individual who enjoys messing with others (to an extent), and often speaks out his actions "in the name of Devil". However, he is joking in regards to his playful and clever personality since he is an open-minded demon that is merely wandering around to find those who are seeking to corrupt themselves without realizing what they're sacrificing.

He hates the concept of people's lives being dictated by fate, as well as showing disgust for having one concept as an excuse to justify the another opposing one in a poor sense. Through this, Mephistopheles is easily provoked when it comes to having his own fate somewhat messed with, and stepping in order to deny such accusations. His job, as to what he believes, is to warn those prior to their corruption and therefore talk their way out of their predestined fate. He merely believes that destiny could be changed within a snap. What he also does (no one knows whether or not it's out of habit), he merely does almost the complete opposite of what he is commanded to do - unless it is the Devil himself. He often plays around to those who believe that they have their fate already cut out for them; and does his best to prove them wrong.

He also shows a rather collective and proper side in terms of his form of speech, as well as a slight sense of humor in terms of playing tricks on other people for his own amusement. So far, his goals despite being something anyone would normally oppose, have a slight sense of charisma.

A Change

Mephisto was born in the deep depths of hell from a lost soul who exchanges his old life for a new one. Ever since he was created, he was already chained and will forever serve the Devil. However, once becoming a senior employee to the Devil's "business," Mephisto was given a lifetime vacation on Earth until he stumbles upon Death's door once again. Even during his vacation he still continues to corrupt everyone and everything he takes interest to, with the exception of a certain individual, who had attempted to corrupt this individual by urging him to kill off a wife and child that were a witness of their father/husband's death. However, Mephisto had accompanied this man who was just inches close to corruption, he was constantly hearing the fact that he was destined to live as a murderer forever - and something about it had ticked the demon off.

Out of rage, he had physically beaten him before both were reawakened with a newfound thought: Was this really their fate? Aren't they able to change it? This was an eye-opening realization and the human ruined his eyes and tried to take his own life. Yet, Mephisto refused to let such a man wallow in pain and regret and simply replaced him with a new pair of eyes so that he could see and gain redemption from how the world had treated him this whole time.

Even if Mephisto left his side after this successful resolution, he was still affected and moved by this man's strong will and desires that dwelled within him. Thus, he believes that he could do the same. The demon gives up on corrupting the humans, but merely makes his fun by watching other agents of Lucifer perform their jobs of allowing humans committing such sins - and then swooping in to (hopefully) spare their lives by becoming the Demon of Warning.

Background

Mephistopheles remains an enigma to mortals as he appears nearly out of thin air, with words that seemingly appear harmless, but made to change their minds... or an attempt to. For when he senses oncoming corruption, he somehow feels obligated to come forth. Whether or not he

Trivia

  • IMMORTALITY: Mephistopheles cannot die. His body will not allow him. He also does not need any sustenance to survive.
  • DIMENSION TRAVELING: By using his third eye, Mephisto can travel to different dimensions and universes, and all different time periods he feels being in. Though, he favors Earth quite well and simply uses this power to appear and reappear in different locations all throughout Earth. With ease, he disappears into a thin, black smoke and reappears as he pleases. He strictly stays away from Hell, however.
  • DWELLING DARKNESS: Mephisto could sense darkness and corruption dwelling of them. And then annoying them. In fact, this is also his job. In short of his actual business, he'll just annoy bad people until the bad people change their minds from doing anything... bad.
  • EYES EVERYWHERE: Mephisto can see things normal people can not. But any symbol or object that resembles an eye, he can make it function as an eye. This means that he can literally draw an eye on and wall and use it with ease until it is erase.
    > Mephisto have both of his eyes, and then a third eye on his forehead. The eyes on his earrings may look like a decoration only, but they, too, function as eyes. Even the eye symbol on his tie knot functions as a single eye.
  • EYE COLLECTOR: Mephisto's first task is to warn those who are taking a dark path that could potentially corrupt themselves. However, if it's already too late or they refuse to yield to his warnings, he merely comes into the aftermath to collect those that are already damned to Hell. One of the first things he does before he collects their souls and releasing them into hell, is to collect their eyes.
    > All of his collected eyes are turned into gems of all colors. The longer the individual was corrupted before being collected, the darker and more intense the color is - a particular favorite to Mephisto. The eyes he collects hold a visual memory - he usually going through each one every once in a while to study more about humans.
  • GIFT OF SIGHT: (Continuation to Eye Collector) As an Eye Collector, he has the ability to remove, insert, and switch eyes of everyone and everything. He's not really a man to help many, but he can help many people who lost their vision but switching their eyes with those he collected.
    > He can also gift himself the sight of other creature's eyes, often experimenting with the eye sights and visions of other beasts and other species aside from humans. This is also how he can see through one's visual memories.
  • DEVIL SCALES: From a visual standpoint, Mephi has scales on one half of his face but the same patches of steel-like scales appears all throughout his body; even going through his suit. This is a defense mechanism for the demon in case there would an attempt to inflict any physical damage on him.
    > Mephistopheles's would appear suddenly all throughout his body once any physical attacks hit his body; protecting him from most lethal physical damage such as bullet wounds, blades, or simple hand-to-hand combat. However, the armor is limited and magic could be able to go through his scales, depending on the spells inflicted.

Arch Angel [ Rivals ]

The two of them hold similar powers. However the difference is that one of them uses them for the utmost good while the other one... just doesn't seem to care very much. Arch Angel believes Mephisto is doing good, but something about an angel claiming that a Demon is performing good deeds makes him uncomfortable. Thus, he strays away. Far away.

Kigen [ ??? ]

Mephistopheles may had been the influence to Kigen's reserved nature. A few magic words and repetitive convincing, Mephisto was partly to blame as to why Kigen remains the way he is. Centuries ago, this fire entity was a burning chaos with the power to envelop the whole world if he pleases. But now, he sits there, self-contained and quiet... watching the world pass by him. The demon comes by occassionally to see how the "Fire god" fairs. In return, he gets a scorch marks on his suit.

Boss [ Friends? Enemies? ]

Perhaps you could call them coworkers. Mephisto denies it, but one isn't wrong if they claim that both were from the fiery pits of hell. Mephisto knows the hellhound quite well, but rarely does he find himself working alongside a brute such as him. But overtime, the years he spent on Earth, there are days where he "misses" the inhabitants of hell. Thankfully, Boss is somewhere around so that Mephisto could bother him.
