history
Poppysong entered the world as a small kitten, quiet but with an abundance of curiosity. Tragically, her mother passed away early in her life, leaving her with a significant void of maternal guidance. Her father, Oakrunner, who is a tough and traditional warrior, struggled to connect emotionally with the shy young kit. Poppysong, overshadowed by her more capable brother, Harestep, often sought solace in the background, hesitant to assert herself in the bustling clan life.
As an apprentice, Poppysong faced the harsh training methods and high expectations set by her father. Despite his intentions to make her a noble warrior, Poppysong's lack of confidence and frequent mistakes in battle moves and hunting tactics disappointed him to no end. Her brother emerged as the shining star, the favored sibling, effortlessly mastering the skills that seemed to elude Poppysong.
To "toughen her up", Harestep began pushing Poppysong into uncomfortable situations, gradually escalating to downright terrifying her with tricks and traps. This torment led to the nickname Pops for how frequently she would nearly jump out of her skin. The bond between the siblings strained as Poppysong struggled to meet the expectations set by her father and brother.
Despite her challenging apprenticeship, Poppysong earned her warrior name, navigating through battles and hunting expeditions with a mix of anxiety and wary hope. Her soft-spoken nature and timid demeanor made her an easy target for ridicule among some clanmates. Though he scars of her tumultuous training lingered, she tries her very best to do things right and to be as helpful as possible, hopefully making up for how useless Poppysong fears she is.

- Her nickname, Pops, was given to her by Harestep as both a play on her name and a cruel way of commenting on her habbit of startling when someone speaks to her
- Poppysong only truly relaxes in the quiet of the flower fields, able to gaze out over the petals and clouds.

Poppysong's most prominent trait is her timid nature. She often shies away from direct confrontation and seeks quiet, peaceful locations. This timidity is a result of past bullying experiences, primarily at the hands of her older brother, Harestep. The constant teasing and intimidation have left Poppysong cautious and hesitant in her interactions with others.
In contrast to the bold and assertive personalities often found among warriors, Poppysong possesses a soft-spoken and gentle demeanor. Her words are carefully chosen, practiced in her head before approaching anyone. Sometimes she is caught off guard and will crumble into stutters and squeaks.
Poppysong is cautious when forming new relationships due to the betrayals and teasing she experienced in the past. While she may initially appear reserved, those who take the time to understand her find a loyal and compassionate companion. Trust is earned slowly, but once established, Poppysong proves to be a fiercely loyal friend.
