About

Aloof • Mysterious • Idealistic • Persuasive • Guarded

A disciple of the Lady of Light, Elliya, Fenrir has known the Sanctuary in Aurum's crown city for all his life. Sent off to its halls by his parents when he was young, the young wolf kemonomimi was practically raised there as both a scholar and one of its clerics-in-training. Compared to some of its more serious inhabitants, Fenrir is awfully aloof, a daydreamer of sorts that tends to blurt his thoughts out loud, to the dismay of his instructors. Despite this, Fenrir is no fool - being fairly educated - and sometimes, hints that he might know much more than he lets on. Whether he is simply reserved or something else is yet to be seen.

Summary

Many paint Fenrir as a wolf in sheep's clothing, despite being a devout follower of the Lady of Light in the crown city of Aurum. Though he is awfully cryptic and never truthfully says what he means, most of the rumours can be traced back to his family rather than his demeanor. Fenrir was born the second oldest child of the Smokeheart noble family, who have traditionally served as advisors in Aurum's military affairs. Moreover, the Smokehearts themselves have a nasty reputation for drama and intrigue that surrounds them: Fenrir's mother married into the family and has had three husbands, siring a child from each of them, with every husband dying of mysterious causes. This has, as a result, caused the family to be viewed as suspicious, creating rumours that they do more nefarious deeds away from the public eye for the name of the government. Though not everything the peasants said was truthful, Fenrir did have to deal with a great amount of family drama growing up, as his family tended to squabble during family dinners. He would even get into fights with his younger sister about their beliefs, leading the only one he could truly confide in as his older brother, a gentle man who did not want the title that he is meant to inherit. Luckily, however, he was shipped off to a Sanctuary to be educated, and this gave him enough breathing room: both away from the drama, and in the real world where he could learn how the people truly acted. Now having acclimitized to this way of life, Fenrir couldn't ask for anything more. But a pair of two royal guards have piqued his interest, and he can't help but tail their journeys...

Trivia

• Despite being at odds with his sister, Sylvia, he will defend her if it comes to it. Family comes first, after all!

• He is the most acclimatized to normal life out of all of the Smokehearts, due to his cleric related duties of tending to his goddess and her people.

• Likes to poke people who annoy him with the pointy end of his staff.

Fell

Fell, along with his partner visits Fenrir at the Sanctuary in times of need - whether it be healing or case-by-case advice. Fell counts on him as an ally, having met Fenrir when on a mission with his former mentors where he was left behind to skim through Sanctuary records under the wolf kemonomimi's supervision. Fenrir thinks Fell can be gullible, but genuinely likes the fox kemonomimi. Though he doesn't know him as well as Yang, his determination in the face of the odds - at least to Fenrir - is admirable.

Sylvia

Despite being half-brother and half-sister, Fenrir and Sylvia are polar opposites. Fenrir treads the path of the light, while Sylvia treads the path of the dark, with many outsiders seeing them as choosing the opposite path at first glance due to their respective histories. Their differences even spread to their philosophies, with Fenrir preferring deontology, and Sylvia preferring utilitarianism. Furthermore, Fenrir and Sylvia's relationship is complicated as best, if not unusually tense. Fenrir still holds some amount of mixed distrust and love at the event that stained his career forever, for the most part, and wishes his sister would abandon the life she's chosen. Sylvia, in the meanwhile, remains a trickster at heart, helping her brother when she deems it necessary, and sometimes beyond that - perhaps feeling an amount of guilt at the event in the past. Interestingly, blood still seems to run thicker than water, and Fenrir and Sylvia will find themselves at each others side - only when the other truly needs them the most.

Skye (WIP, his OU is not up yet)

Fenrir's older half-brother, and the eldest of the Smokeheart family. Relationship tba, but Fenrir and Skye find a common bond in being pushed to life paths neither wanted. (Fenrir never wanted to serve in a Sanctuary, and Skye never wanted to become a warrior.)
