Based in an alternate universe earth. Vampirism has taken over across the galaxy, and in order to treat the issue, those affected are brainwashed and genetically modified into ‘vampire cupids’ in order to; protect living people, create useful members of society and create profit for a large interplanetary capitalist organisation. Cupids are rented out or bought by gods, world-keepers and armies to alter the interpersonal relationships between individuals under their control. Cupids shoot magical arrows to invoke these changes in people. Each type of arrow is double-ended and has 2 different and opposite effects depending on which one hits the target. They do not change the personality, belief system or overall views of the individual – they only affect that person’s direct feelings towards the next person they interact with. For instance, hitting someone with a lust side of the dart will make them wish to do pleasant things to that person, while the animosity side would make them wish to do unpleasant things to them.
Carnage is of unknown origin species and is a failed example of a cupid. Carnage was named so by the residents of earth as it is completely out of control. Nobody knows who had the authority to hire it and whoever did is long gone. The problem is, as well as being a typical blood-sucking vampire (a need and desire that would have been restricted by the genetic modification), Carnage is also an energy vampire. Due to how the darts it uses effect people’s emotions, it is constantly exposed to negative feelings, which charge up its power. In its full vampire mode, it mindlessly and chaotically searches for targets to drain of blood and otherwise eat.
Although the below also relate to real-world feelings, the definitions here may not line up to your understanding or definition of them. This is not intended to be real or directly relatable to real life.

Cupid Carnage was based on a design created by Clownish and purchased as part of a trade by Gnotknormal. The design has been significantly edited, but still recognises Clownish as the original creator. It is owned by Gnotknormal.
The concept of a 'vampire cupid' was created for this character. It can be considered an OPEN SPECIES and I am 100% happy for you to make your own based on the lore written here (or feel free to ask me more!) - however you may not take any aspect of Cupid Carnage's design or heavily reference it.
