His ability to change his appearance came as a tradeoff for losing half of his strength whenever he turns into ‘Emil’”
Personality:
He is a very charismatic individual. His warm nature is like a beacon of warmth and hope, and he attracts friends like a flame attracts a moth. He is very intelligent, and quick to notice details when he needs to. He is very wise and can help any situation with his charm and quick wit. His many experiences and observations have given him a rich understanding of many things, which he puts to good use by helping other people whenever possible.
However, as Emil, he is much more playful and whimsical. However, this does not remove the wisdom he previously held. Being Emil, give him more freedom to act youthful to blend in with his disciples. Though will still act mature compared to how he physically looks.
Character stories:
He was once a very sickly young child. His parents were terrified that anything and everything could potentially kill him, so they consulted with their doctor and the local Mondstadt church. They decided to escort him Liyue, where there is a famous physician that could aid him. There, he stumbled into a maze-like forest and into a domain; forbidden to mortals. Within this domain, he found the ghost of a fair lady, locked away after the Archon War.
She was a weakened demon, though this was not known at the time. At first, she was hostile. However, after some time, they eventually made peace. She was charmed by his persistency and warm nature. As time went on, they eventually went from a simple friendship to a close companionship. Eventually, in an effort to prevent his premature death, she sacrificed her blood and spirit to resurrect him. As a result, he ages slowly compared to other people.
Her body vanished, leaving only a faint memory of her essence in its place. From that day on, he has gone by many nicknames, and seen many lands. He helped many people and learned much in the process. Now, he travels a vast world, doing what good he can, hoping to find a way to return a favor of his slow life as a ‘mortals’.
He never had any companions or disciples of his own, but after taking advice from an old friend, he eventually took in René and Mishka; the former from Fontaine, and the latter from Snezhnaya. After taking on these two, and years of training and teaching, they began to think of him as a fatherly figure, even going as far as calling him exactly that; 'Father'. Later, he will take in Li Hua into his wing too after some misunderstanding.
Trivia:
- Father’s real name isn’t Emil; it is what he called himself when he shifted into Emil. Emil is his teen form.
- The ‘lady’ was his first crush and still is.
- He only uses sword when he is Emil; but as Father, he will use both catalyst and sword (just like Red Mage in Final Fantasy).
- There is a demon essence in him from the blood that was transfused to him. Which can help increases his overall output during battle but in exchange he will become manic.
- (Design) his outfit is Fontaine inspired. Because that was his initial region supposed to be but then I changed his origin to Mondstadt. However, I retain the concept because he stayed there the longest before he met his disciples.
