"Angel Game! KOKORO" synopsis

"Angel Game"--It's said to be a game where one could gain the ability to control powerful elements by having a magical, circle-shaped symbol on their left hand called the "Angel's Heart". However, it was discovered that the price you pay to play this game is by having a certain "misfortune"; and that alone became the reason why the game is frowned upon society--saying it's the source of these misfortunes or the sign of an upcoming war between mankind. One day, Kokoro found herself owning the rumored Angel's Heart...after facing her biggest loss...

"I used to never believe in fantasies...but then I realized.. Kishi is indeed, my Valkyrie; that saved and revived me into this new life..."

The treasurer of St. Angel's Student Council. Known for his intelligence and strong memory, he seems to be a genius at everything....except socializing. While he never aims to be perfect, he wanted to at least improve on that weakness of him for the sake of himself, and his friend...?

Personality

Intelligent
Realistic
Strong-willed
Too shy
Inexpressive
Very passive

Manami's intelligence is considered comparable to Takuto; with a slightly different perception such as Manami being more realistic and logical in his thinking. Being introverted, Manami's biggest flaw is often mentioned to be his lack of communication skills. In conversations, he often faces difficulties such as unable to read atmosphere or jokes, or the fact he often stutters when speaking, which also adds to why he's the perfect teasing subject for someone like Yunosuke.

However, Manami, who's completely aware of his social anxiety, aims to fix this flaw of himself, starting from interacting with fellow Student Councils members...even though other Student Council also face a hard time understanding Manami's thoughts or actions due to his inexpressive self. Despite Manami is often seen timid and hardly voice out opinions (even that he disagrees with others); Manami is considered a quite loyal person who's opening his trust to the other Student Councils, even if their relationship are nowhere to be considered "best friends". The truth is, Manami also wanted to socialize and improve more because of an old promise with his first friend...

Backstory

Manami didn't hide the fact that a certain person influenced Manami to become more talkative and less reclusive, or probably the one that inspired Manami to transfer to St. Angel in the first place. One certain misfortune have indeed, changed himself and made Manami grateful until today.

In the past, Manami used to be a lot more anti-social, avoiding any forms of friendship/relationship and mostly spent his time studying at home or classes. He did not have any friends or understand the appeal of having one--but one day, he met a person named Kishi who pretty much changed his life. Unlike Manami, Kishi is a lot more "free"--he does not care about his grades in classes and had his own dreams that is decided by Kishi himself. Their difference is what drawn Manami to befriend Kishi, that he started to talked to Kishi almost daily. Half a year later, Kishi was bed-ridden in the hospital due to an incurable disease. That moment also made Manami realize about his attachment towards Kishi--that Kishi even admitted, befriending Manami was one of Kishi's final wishes. Not too long after that, Manami woke up with a "Heart" on his palm, later to know that Kishi also passed away on the same day. As much as Manami is still mourning over Kishi's death--he couldn't thank Kishi enough for breaking him out of his shell and for being Manami's first friend; that Manami later transferred to St. Angel in order to become stronger and pursue his own dreams.

Current story

Manami is a very hardworking person, he's not limiting himself to only academics-based knowledge and willing to study more about Angel Game, as well as how to socialize with others in order to improve himself. Both physically and mentally, he strives to be stronger--no matter how hard the hurdle is.

No matter how much he missed Kishi--he never blamed Angel Game to be the fault of the misfortune. He decided to accept this misfortune as one and only chance for him to change into a better person--as Manami finally found something that he finally wanted in himself. This also shows that Manami is one of the Student Councils that are within the "good" side and shows no antagonistic traits.

Relationships

Yunosuke

2052087?

Friends

Yunosuke's and Manami's relationship started out odd as Manami couldn't have the courage to turn down Yunosuke's offer to play with his games, but later, Manami started learning that Yunosuke is more than someone who acts weirdly eccentric, and believe that Yunosuke is indeed, a nice person.

Inugami Ootake

2048630?

Friends...?

Because of Manami's nature of being passive to anyone, he became one of the few that can tolerate Inugami's personality. Both of them have quite the opposite parallel in a lot of things, with one of them being Manami being slightly envious of Inugami's talent that doesn't require as much efforts...

Takuto

2051614?

Respect

Manami sees Takuto as his upperclassmen despite they both share the same age. Takuto have the strength in influencing everyone with his knowledge, which is something Manami aims to have. Manami is also often advised by Takuto to be less awkward and "robotic", and unlike most people--he took Takuto's advice as a reminder rather than taking it too personally.
