Kyoji

Appearance

- Has a baby face and hates it (makes him look much more innocent than he really is)
- Can't be seen-- and can't see-- without his large, square glasses. The rims are thin and silver
- Honey brown eyes, fairly expressive compared to his body movements
- Doesn't try too hard to look good-- usually ends up wearing some variation of a collared t-shirt, high-waisted pants, with tennis shoes. He tries not to stand out and, at the same time, he tries not to look like a slob
- Oftentimes littered in bruises or scratches, along with bandages. They usually crop up along his face or on his knuckles/fingers

Personality

- Natural born skeptic
- Torn between snark and stoicism
- Extreme bookworm nerd/book smarts. Doesn't have to work too hard to understand things, and as such, he utilizes this intelligence toward making a little money on the side with tutoring.
- Around Adam he is pretty fussy/cynical (still not entirely loud-mouthed)
- Pretty much closed off to anyone but Adam, can't really open up to anyone
- Will stay calm unless provoked too far. Even his aggravated tone is pretty chill

BIO

somehow gets into trouble and deals with it the best he can, all thanks to his best friend

surprisingly hardy for how short and thin he is! he can keep up with Adam no problem.

there's a rumor going around that on top of all his tutoring income, he also helps Adam's family/business even out their books, and in turn is given a good sum of money.

Kyoji was friends with Adam before he left for America. This closed-off bookworm was devastated when that happened, and on his own volition, he began to study English in earnest as a means of connection even when there was great distance between them, picking it up quickly. It's those types of instances in Kyoji's actions that could make one wonder what exactly is the relationship between Adam and him. Frankly, there is a lot of love, and a sort of devotion to Adam, and it came naturally, strong since day one.
Since Adam returned to Japan, Kyoji refuses to leave the other man in peace for long. If Adam were to ever move again, Kyoji would do everything in his power to follow...
Through all of these truths and feelings, Kyoji doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, and would probably never admit to any of it, unless pressed under duress.
Some may consider Adam to be a crutch for Kyoji, but... He's never felt this alive around anyone else, doing anything solely for himself.

Trivia

• Refuses to dress as outlandish as Adam (he thinks it looks cool though)
• Speaks English and Japanese-- English was self-taught, but he is very fluent
     Has a soft accent, speaks a bit slower in English.
     If flustered (due to Adam), he begins to garble his words until he's left unintelligible.
• Skips class whenever possible by taking all the exit level tests ahead of time. This works well with Adam's propensity for playing hooky and dragging Kyoji along
• WWII history buff-- but that comes second place to shonen manga
• Has a bad addiction to smoking and even though he blames Adam, he already was smoking before his friend returned back to Japan
• He's always surprised whenever he gets involved in an altercation and nobody breaks his glasses. They're his lucky pair, now
• Prefers rainy days and hiding inside
