Atticus was born the youngest of three to a wealthy family. His father came to the United States from somewhere in the UK, he'd never thought to ask where exactly, and had inhereted a significant amount of money from his family. He used this, as well as the good business sense he was raised, with to create a number of different successful business chains that popped up across the 50 states. Atticus's mother was also well-educated and instilled in Atticus the hunger for knowledge, which he pursued into university.
