Sho Alexander Bando

Background: Sho is the only child of of his parents, his father Takashi Bando and his mother Julia Reeds. His father was a police officer and Sho wanted to be one as well, ever since he was a child as he looked up to his father. Unlike many other children Sho never developed super powers but was never bothered by this and his parents never saw him any differently for it, instead they were focused on his poor health. He would often become sick and bedridden with fevers, to the point where he was home schooled by his mother because he was ill so frequently. As he grew up his parents encouraged Sho's dreams but secretly worried that Sho's health would keep declining. His health never stopped Sho from helping out where ever he could, from helping his mother with the shopping to keeping the elderly lady next door company.

When Sho was 13 his father was killed by a villain which spurred him on even more to being an officer as a way of honoring his father and his sense of justice strengthened. However he was quite confused when the hero that caught the killer was so dismissive of Sho, who only wanted to thank him, and instead focused on the news reporters. This was his first insight to the darker side of heroism.

When he was old enough to apply to join the police force he was quickly denied due to his health which had not improved over the years. This rejection shattered Sho and was made worse when he started to take notice of heroes. He saw heroes jumping in to save people for their own benefit, to earn popularity and money, instead of doing it because it was right. In his eyes it was selfish and he became more angry that the police were often seen as lesser compared to heroes. He became jealous that others could so easily do what he desperately wanted. His sense of justice was doused and he stopped being passionate about helping others.

Over time he became more and more bitter, depression set in and he stopped taking care of himself properly for a long time. The death of his mother when he was 23 didn't help as she was the only family he had left. His bitter and cynical personality made it hard for anyone to get close to him which left him even lonelier. His health also meant he couldn't get a full time job and instead he was left to stew in his bitterness.

• Julia and Takashi met while Julia was studying in Japan to become an English teacher.
• Sho's middle name Alexander was given to him by his mother Julia who wanted to use her grandfather's name.
• He picked up his habit of smoking when his mother died as a way of dealing with the stress.
• Since his mother died Sho has never been to visit his parents graves, he is too ashamed of his situation.
• Sho has multiple scars on his stomach from his previous surgeries, these surgeries resulted in parts of his digestive system being removed as they had shut down and were too damaged to save. Sho has also had 3 heart transplants.
• The disease Sho has is unknown, all that is known is that it targets his organs (e.g. his lungs, liver), causing damage to them to the point that they no longer function as intended. It has also been noted to attack white blood cells.
• The scar to Sho's face was caused by falling glass when a building collapsed near him due to a villain; he was lucky that his nose wasn't completely sliced off.
