Erik is a fairly chill person, spending this majority of his time hanging with his mates at the park or going for a swim at the beach. The only things that break his chill persona are his parents' academic expectations for him, and his crush on his friend Caleb. Both of these things cause him a world of grief, as his parents push him to excell at school like his twin, Seichi, and Caleb doesn't seem to acknowledge his existance. Sometimes it drives him to isolate himself in his room for hours on end.
Unfortunately, he has a lot of internalised homophobia towards himself, and he has no way to handle it besides venting to his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa. She helps him express his feelings and tries to help hook him up with Caleb in time. The problem is that Erik feels that after his brother came out, he had no choice but to stay silent about his sexuality, lest he become more of a family disappointment. Seichi's happy relationship with his boyfriend, Travis, makes Erik incredibly jealous, but he tries to hide it the best he can. If only Caleb actually talked to him so he could sort out his feelings directly with the object of his affections.
