Networking, comms and anger
brusque • fussy • has no filterLujang gives off the air of one who could and would blow up at the slightest prompting. As the network and communications engineer for the Cloudlander, she's constantly nagging the sailors' ears off for wrecking her expensive equipment.
She's a pushy person with very strong ideas about how things should be done properly, but often has to begrudgingly do something for her job even if she thinks it's a bad idea.
There are few things she dislikes more than people who don't say what they mean and act all saccharine. But she's just a behind-the-scenes worker, which doesn't require her to put on airs. Usually. Many a time, her constant cussing and tendency to go ballastic on colleagues have gotten her in trouble, but it's not like they can fire her, she gets shit done and manages the pressure better than anyone could ever claim to.
What few know is that she's an utter fanatic (and yet also a hater) deep down, and is absolutely delighted to have a job with a sailing team. She collects the team's fanart and keeps up with sailing-related social networks on the Threads. She reads a lot in her free time, too (usually novels and language-related pages).
Lujang went through 5 different companies in the same number of years, until she joined Cloud Connectors as a networking and communications specialist, and it clicked. Few people meet the high-paced demands of maintaining race Thread relays through extreme conditions as well as she does.
Her duties include getting the Thread relays prepped, testing their communication devices, and ensuring that the lines remain live for the entirety of the race. This often involves improvised repairs and Weaving on the fly. She also attends to Iki's requests for meteorological equipment setup, Janda's requests for Covert Spying, and Telaki's requests to not curse on camera.
She's very opinionated about other sailing teams, despite rarely interacting directly with them. For instance, she thinks Zera is hot and she can't stand Xye (Wulien is lucky these two have never had to interact).
Trivia
Lujang likes to read about languages and linguistics. She's learning how to read and write Hies Loricoda, the oldest language in the world. Their name is pronounced like hanyu pinyin "Lu Zhang". I associate her with jade/leaf green, and she likes to wear ribbons in her outfit.Likes

Connections
Telaki • coworker
Telaki is OK (this is high praise). She's too verbose sometimes, but she gets the job done, and more importantly, she stops the execs from getting in the way of her doing her job. They trust the woman and that's all one could hope for from Lujang, to be honest.
Iki • coworker
Lujang and Iki are good friends, but also often find each other a pain. On the job, they both work their asses off, and sometimes get annoyed at each other when the other has missed one single detail that's throwing them off. Ultimately, though, they're a good team, and spend too much time sharing their workspace for there to be genuine friction between them.
Janda • coworker
OK. Janda is the worst. She's never anywhere to be found, she's always putting on this ~mysterious air~, and she often demands Lujang do things that are nigh impossible within the given time frame (like tap into the opponents' race relays, what?). They coexist in the workplace, and that's it.
Anqien • teammate
Lujang has a hundred frustrations with Anqien. They keep damaging their earpiece by accident (how does someone manage this so often?). They're also way too cagey about their opinions and give no useful feedback. Thanks!
Jinai • teammate
Lujang is at an uneasy peace with Jinai. Jinai does her part, keeps the equipment safe, and cooperates when diagnosing networking problems, but with her wryness and tendency for backhanded criticism, and Lujang's short temper, getting any chummier seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
