Persona

Giving Benevolent Playful Hedonistic Nonpartisan Importunate

To mortals, he is well-known for his benevolence and magnanimity. But by that same tune, he isn't liked by many in the world(s) of omnipotent species, for being so partial to his charges, and uninvolved in 'important matters'. But... Ghosts and living creatures-- the 'mortals'? He kind of makes it a point to get on their good side. Even if it's just his job, he finds it satisfying and entertaining in many ways.
Before he was a big shot, able to work on several planes of organisms, he was finding time to make everything fit just-so to appease the little people.

He's known for being a good liar. And by that meaning, he's a good-intentioned fellow, but he's also a big liar (lol). Asra will do anything to come off nonchalant, though he is a thorough worker. Technically, even his dalliances when cavorting planetside still have bits and pieces of work peppered along the way...
He sings, dances, toys about humanoids as if he were born to do so. He loves acting the part of a gadabout and a performer, despite finding slight ways to be charitable and bless those around him. With this comes his flirtiness, seemingly never-ending. This hedonism is considered immoral, but to a deity, nothing is offlimits. He does often use his power for his own wants, rather than the greatest good.

And even though he is a pleaser, it comes from a sense of satisfaction for himself. He knows he can't make everyone happy. Indeed, those that find ways to deride everything manage to get under his skin. At least by the end of the day, he gets to entertain himself.
... But beware if you do piss him off, he will be an annoying little jerk for years on end, just to slight you. He will make you give in, and he doesn't even need to curse you to do so. :3c

Background

Asra is a mischievous deity-spirit with a penchant for focusing on 'humanity' rather than his duties.

Not only is he kind of-- maybe-- really too playful for his tasks and how he treats others, but he is also on a higher plane of deities, having achieved spirit status. With this immense responsibility, he can commune with the living and dead, something that is neigh impossible for those tending to the thriving, mess of energy that makes Oakkha livable for mortals.

It wasn't always like this for Asra'ti, being a most coveted, spiritually ascended God-like being...
Before spirit status, he was a giving, selfless deity, one that went above and beyond in helping the mortals of the planet. More often than not, he seemed to make time to survey 'the little things' that bothered the mortals, and tend to his duties all within a centuries' time (something very admirable among the immortals). The only reason these deeds weren't lost on others is because Asra made it a point to bring up that the other deities should be working just as hard as he to satisfy the mortals on-planet, something that was unheard of before Asra casually took the plunge.

So even though now this Spirit Guide can be quite immature and hard-to-handle, underneath all that is a fellow who has a big heart, and thinks of his subjects as equals. ...In a sense.

Skills

Deity Constitution

Immortal, and more or less impossible to kill (the only true way is through dark sealing magic, something that is one-in-a-million chance of a mortal being able to wield). Deities do not need consumption of any kind for replenishing purposes. Even magic usage, though limited at times, only needs periods of time to recharge within the deities' body.
Immune to diseases and viruses. Incapable of spilling fluids, but, as deities are wont to do, can imitate such things-- mostly for disguising purposes.
Unchartable strength when in humanoid form. Has no need to breathe, though, again, can imitate the rhythm in their chest and so on.

Spirit Realm Channeling

Rare among the deities themselves, Asra may possibly be the only immortal currently able to commune and lead the dead to their respected resting places... And/or their places of torment. Oakkha is made of the energy of its previously living, and as such, they never truly 'leave' the planet. It's Asra'ti's job to direct them where they're needed, or in cases of a life well-lived, Asra can grant them peace as they 'rest' among the planet.
This task takes up much of Asra's energy, and yet he still finds time to smile through it. It leaves its mark upon his appearance through ultra-white hair, instead of his usual blue.

Transformation

It is understandable how some mortals on Oakkha believe in shapeshifters, though in truth, they are always deities roaming the planet in disguise. Asra has the ability to transform his physical shape into any thing he desires. Inorganic concepts such as man-made machinery, or furniture, are out of the question, but odd creatures like hogbeasts or even a puff-flower are possible.
Before Asra's loose approach to this useful skill, most immortals rarely used it for the changing of a humanoid figure. Asra has always been particular to 'looking good', and as such, is rarely seen in his true form, and instead, in this presentable, handsome human-like man.

Blessings and Curses

The major work of deities: Asra uses his blessing power in spades.
These blessings affect any organic thing by giving health, vitality, and, depending on intensity- added lifespan.
There are major benefits all deities can bestow to a single 'object', such as the ability to walk among immortal planes, or even flight, new use of magic, etc. However, these are quite difficult to bestow, many deity-placeholds ensured that it takes multiple deities to come to this decision (as not to be used recklessly).
As for curses, like all deities, Asra'ti has the ability to cause pain-- even death if need be. However, it has been close to five-thousand years since he felt the need to bring a mortal 'object' to its demise, as deities skirt the moral line between what is just and what isn't... So even the most cruel of creatures are scrutinized and given excuses as to why they are still living, and other, poorer creatures were left to die so early.

Trivia

  • He is not a djinn, though many times he does amuse himself appearing before mortals that way.
...It is most definitely his fault that the djinn idea stemmed from his approaches on Oakkha, long long long long ago.
  • Though the white hair is the most obvious way to tell Asra is communing or wandering through the spirit realm, he often does his hair in that manner because 'it looks fun and fresh'.
  • As with most shapeshifters, it's common to see natural coloring viewed within 'default' form. It takes more power to change colorage. As such, Asra's other forms have the blue-white-starry motif.
Because of this, there is a lot of Oakkhan lore that considers starry motifs to be omens of goodness.
Blue colored creatures are coveted and thought to all be pieces of Asra's spirit (though it isn't true).
