Jun is the shy one of the twin brothers. He perfectly fits the archetype of 'little brother,' as he's the type to be influenced and follow his big brother, whom he looks up to greatly.
Unlike Ryusei, Jun has no real outstanding quirks. He copies his brother's style, but that's where it ends. Jun himself is a normal boy, though he's far more in touch with his emotional half and much more honest about it.
Jun is the younger twin brother to Ryusei Nakazawa. Jun also has a mother, father, and two elder sisters. He doesn't remember Ryusei in person, and whose barely any memories of him as kids, as Jun was given up to Project Ares when he was 4 years old.
Jun is a second year student in September 2017, when this story begins.
Jun has watched over his big brother for years through hidden cameras, and thus feels a strong bond to him. He looks up to Ryusei, and isn't afraid to admit it. He even requested to dye his hair exactly like Ryusei, though inverted.
A year after the story begins, in August of 2018, Jun receives word that Ryusei had taken a bullet to protect Ichigo and had died. This is a soul crushing point in his life, and officially marks his end in the original Project Ares.
Jun struggles with his emotional state through the next few weeks, while also being subjected to new testing now that his twin is no longer of this realm.
Masaki's gentle leader personality is what draws Jun to him. The boys are often seen together, and Jun feels he can be the most honest and upfront with him.
Unlike their twins who are best friends, Jun and Yuuji butt heads and fight at every opportunity. They rarely got along and took every chance to rile the other up. After Ryusei's death, Yuuji is kind to his roommate, Jun, and the fostered friendship turns into something much more romantic as time passes.
Jun has never spoken to Ryusei, but he loves him with his whole heart. He often imagines what kind of life they'd have if they grew up together and looks up to Ryusei. He never gets to meet Ryusei, as Ryusei dies.
