Personality

Joeseph is a rather thoughtful man, often lost in his own thoughts. He is quiet and reserved and keeps to himself. Though when teaching, he gets very enthusiastic. He is sometimes rather jumpy and can be borderline aggressive when people mention the military, medical experiments or history around him. He has heightened anger and aggression when he's hungry and his eyes will change colour when he is due for a feeding.

He is quite a charming and charismatic man, though he shows little to no emotion about certain things. His coworkers describe him as a warm, gentle personality, though admitted to be a bit distant and detached from things. His patients say similar things to him, that he's been nothing but kind and patient to them.

Joeseph has a different side, however. Under that kind exterior, he is a cruel and sadistic man. He doesn't work at a hospital for what blood does to him. Not only does it fuel his thirst due to him being a vampire, it also arouses him greatly and fuels his sadistic tendencies. He's kind to animals, however, owning a German Shepherd puppy and a few horses all of which he adores.

  • Wears large, round glasses. His prescription hasn't changed since the 40s so he still uses his old ones.
  • He prefers his fashion style from the '40s though finds it harder and harder to maintain. The '80s was hell for him.
  • He rarely shows emotion and is almost always scowling except or looking sad.
  • He has a thing for uniforms and kept his old one for aesthetic.
  • It's rare to see him in anything except a 3-piece suit.
  • Joeseph is actually a Jewish man. Being in a concentration camp left such a big impact on him that he still wears cross necklaces from having to hide his faith. He's too scared to seek others and try and go back to his old faith due to what he is and his past crimes.

History

Background

Joeseph grew up in Europe in what is now considered Croatia. When asked, that's all he'll say about where exactly he is from. He had a rather uneventful life, despite being born just before World War 1. His mother was a tailor and his father owned a store. He was picked on in his youth for being smaller than the other boys and not wanting to roughhouse or play war games with them.

His family got thrown into a concentration camp, his father and mother being killed first. Someone saw potential in the young man for whatever reason and pulled him aside to not get killed off. Joeseph was hungry, hurting, angry and full of rage and spite at this point. The strange man locked Joeseph away in a room, calling him 'his pet'. He did all kind of awful things to him that made Joeseph hate him even more and hate all men for the longest time.

Eventually, Joeseph noticed the man's eyes turned red and started talking about giving Joeseph unimaginable power. He didn't think much of it till the man attacked him more vicious than ever and bit his neck and started to drink his blood. Joeseph suffered alone for a few days in excruciating pain by himself as his body changed from the venom coursing through his veins. A few days later, the man led him out for the others to see. He was angry and hungry, leading him to lash out at and kill another officer. He got restrained and beaten into submission. With a gun loaded with silver bullets pressed to his head, he had to make a choice. To stay and perform experiments on prisoners, or become experimented on. He chose the first option and quickly rose in popularity for his cruel tendencies and uncaring demeanor.

He disappeared off the face of the earth for a bit after WW2 ended, hiding in secrecy, sheltered by various groups to cover his tracks. He lives now in Canada as a university professor teaching physiotherapists and sports therapy. However, he works with a secret underground group that is working to revive historical figures with cryogenics, AI and cyborg technology.

Due to him being a vampire and his past 'medical experiments', Joeseph has an extreme fascination with murder and blood and a very extreme gore fetish. He doesn't work in a hospital for the sole reason that blood arouses him greatly. He lives in a high density populated area that lets him take victims and kill them at his leisure. He usually picks on criminals since they would not exactly be missed. Either that or he hangs about the bars and watches for rather unsavory people with unsavory intentions and picks them off for harassing women and/or men.

Family

Joeseph got along well with his parents. He had one younger sister at one point, however she died of illness when she was ten years old. His family wasn't too horribly off, but they were poor. They had a roof over their head and just enough food to eat, but not much else to spare. They lived in a small, Eastern European village somewhere. He was raised in a devoutly Jewish household. He almost became clergy, but it got too dangerous then the war errupted, forcing his family to convert to Catholicism.

Somewhere in the '60s, he tried having a child with a human woman. Not knowing that humans and vampires rarely can have children together, his at the time fiance died in childbirth, leaving him to raise his son by himself. His son grew up to become a professional Rugby player. He left Croatia when his son moved out, starting life again in Canada.

He is now 'father' of a vampire family and a cult of serial killers. He is quite happy to have a family of his own again after witnessing the death of his old one.

Notes and Heacanons:

• He murders in his old WW2 military uniform and a gas mask hiding his face, so that if anyone witnesses him and reports him, they are written off as drunk, high or delusional.
• He lives between Duncan and Victoria on Vancouver Island, in BC, Canada.
• He is very careful in his murder work. He and his vampire family consume all the blood, occasionally some other parts. He feeds the meat and bones to his werewolf oworker. He knows it was a bad move to introduce him to the taste of human flesh, but they both benefit from it and makes cleaning up a scene very effective.
