Jasmine Reyes

Jasmine is a young, confident woman trying to do her best in school and life. She is clever, headstrong, and passionate about what she does. Nursing school is her ultimate goal; she considered getting a medical degree, but decided the loans weren't worth it. Though she rarely gets to participate, she loves the theatre and is a competent actress. She can be as loud and outgoing as Mikhail, especially when she drinks. She doesn't have a jealous bone in her body, which makes their relationship smooth. Jazz is known amongst her friends for being superstitious and a believer in the supernatural, so much so that when she explores abandoned areas, particularly at night, she carries things like rosaries and containers of salt to ward off spirits.

Born to an upper middle class family of an accountant and a business woman, Jazz didn't grow up wanting much. When she introduced Mikhail as her boyfriend, her parents made cruel comments because of his status (a musician with several roommates who was formerly homeless) and sexuality. Though she has pulled away from them slightly, she needs their financial support during college, so she and Mikhail see each other in secret. Her oldest sister, Zaya, is mean and a kleptomaniac, so she's kept at arms length. Vanessa is quiet and demure, sticking close to her parents and not rebelling enough to see her sister. Tala is the only one Jazz is close to anymore since Tala is nonbinary and therefore also slightly estranged.
