Profile
His full name is Amagasaki Suguri (雨ケ崎勝), though it's a name he chose for himself after getting his second chance at life as a Diabolicus. Chinchilla ears/tail + face-type demon! The restraints on his tail are extra thick wires held in place by violin tuning pegs. About 20-21 years old. His Lacie partner and only true friend is Alto.
HISTORY
BEFORE DEATH
Suguri was originally a prodigy violinist. He was someone who just loved playing the violin and earnestly wanted to share his music with the world. Unfortunately, there were people who coveted his position and his opportunities. Suguri was ultimately killed by a jealous rival via a stage accident that resulted in him being decapitated, hence the stitch scars around his neck.
AS A DIABOLICUS
With his second chance at life as a Diab, Suguri wants to continue to play the violin and improve his skills, but also has a deep desire to figure out who killed him and exact revenge upon them. Because of his experience, sometimes he gets very anxious and afraid of playing the violin, which causes him to have psychotic episodes and lash out at people or throw/break things.
He looks different now compared to who he was before he died, so he created a new identity for himself and is currently rising again as a violin-playing star. However, one of the first things he did was locate the violin he used to use. It was being held by a collector who refused to give it up, so he had no choice but to kill them for the sake of retrieving his precious violin, which he lovingly refers to as "Odile".
His music has lost the gentle, universal appeal that it once had. Now Suguri's violin-playing bites like an icy wind and the emotional lows are deeper than ever before. People have described his music as sounding "violating" and/or moving them to tears. In general, people feel pretty strong negative emotions from listening to him play and this inspires feelings of fear or revulsion in most. This has led Suguri to cultivate a sort of cult following, as a select minority feel that his music rings more true and passionate than other violinists’ music. To put it in a very convoluted but true manner: Suguri's music is the sort of thing that is appreciated by people who appreciate that sort of thing. While this benefits Suguri since it's this negative emotion (Pandora) that feeds his demon, that was just a nice after effect, as far as he's concerned. It's simply that Suguri can no longer play like before because he's lost his positive feelings towards the world and towards other people. His violin-playing isn't for them, so he no longer cares about making it comfortable or easy to listen to. It's almost masturbatory for Suguri; he purely pours his own feelings and anguish into the music to satisfy himself and himself alone.
PERSONALITY
He’s serious/stoic, introverted, obsessive, and quite distrustful of others. Though he was a kind person before his death and still is, deep down, Suguri is quick to treat people coldly or hurt them if it's for the sake of his goals. Fear drives him: fear of being hurt again and fear of not being able to play music anymore. He has a very obsessive personality and tends to fixate on things. He craves constancy and stability. One can only imagine the torment he would put someone through if he ever fell in love with them.
