Positive: Organized | Protective | Confident | Dedicated 

Lorelei is really organized; he was that kid in highschool finishing A+ graded projects, and handing them in early. On the other side of the coin to this, he often ends up overworking himself to the bare bones of exhaustion, as he's so focused on the next project, that he doesn't even bother to give himself a break in between them as a reward, or as a time to mentally prepare him for the next onstacle to overcome. Even now, he works himself until the point he physically can not continue, and will crash for nearly half the day, (which takes a toll on his health after a while.)

Lorelei's dedication to projects, family, LA DedSec, etc, is an admirable trait, despite the exhaustion associated with it. This dedication often leads him to be extremely protective of those things, as he holds them very close to his heart, and will fight tooth and nail for them. (God forbid you if you cross Marcus the wrong way.) Even though Lorelei has built up many emotional walls over the years, and thus when he trusts someone 100% those walls come down, he can be blinded by his own loyalty for others, which is definitely a heavy downfall of his.

Lorelei is surprisingly confident in his abilities (usually.) He doesn't brag about anything in his skillset, but he does know what he's doing whether it's hacking or something else. Sometimes, he's overconfident, which is only human after being set into a routine of consecutive successes. When Lorelei does mess up, it's usually because he did grow overconfident and let his guard and standards down as a result, even wjth him being a perfectionist. Despite the occasional failure (which often results in lashing out at others,) he will, and can, admit that he was wrong and failed; but only after the waters have settled. As long as no one got hurt, or outright died, he can try again and leave things in the past, as he's not exactly one to hold onto grudges.

Lorelei first and foremost, is the absolute moodiest person you'll ever meet, seemingly in a bad mood no matter when and where you talk to him. (Though, it is worse earlier in the mornings when he hasn't had his caffeine fix yet-- he's not a morning person by any means!) It isn't really something to take personally, he treats pretty much everyone with the same blunt, sharp tongued attitude, no matter how long he's known them. Lorelei is distrusting towards almost everyone he knows, and it takes a lot to get him to open up even the slightest. Beyond his brother, there is only about two or three people he trusts entirely. When Lorelei trusts someone, he really means it, and would put his life on the line for the other person if they said it was going to be okay.

On the flipside to Lorelei's dedication to projects and organization skills, he is extremely stubborn on adjusting plans and tackling things from a new perspective. For Lorelei, it's his way or the highway. Maybe he's slightly overconfident because most of his projects and plans turn out fine in the end, but when one does go wrong he will obsess over the flaws aggressively, yelling "Why the hell didn't it work?!" and maybe trying again in the same way, instead of taking a step back, letting himself collect himself and try to do things differently the next time. Lorelei really doesn't like changing his ways, and will more often than not, take the longer route to get to some place based on the fact that he is more familiar with that route. 

Confidence and nihilism is a slippery slope of both believing in yourself and having the "we are all going to die because life is meaningless," meantalities down to a T, and boy does Lorelei do that justice. It isn't that he goes into a situation with low expectations and thinking that itll just end up worse. In fact, since Lorelei is confident in his abilities, he isn't that worried about the outcome of a situation; however, a part of Lorelei naturally expects things to go haywire, and this he tends to approach things with a very "fuck it" attitude, because the bearded guy in the sky has had enough of this bullshit.

--Or that is what he likes to think, anyways. 

After a certain point, Lorelei's confidence completely diminishes and he buckles under the pressure, mentally breaking down in a fit of anger. He didn't anticipate it correctly, which leads him to doubt his abilities. He just can't accept that he failed until he's cooled off. (As explained a couple of paragraphs above with him being stupidly stubborn.)

At a first glance, Lorelei is two things: standoffish and extremely stressed. Even though he's not entirely jittery around strangers, it's enough to lash out with a harsh sarcasm. He's never been one to trust people who haven't "proved" themselves, he doesn't have a steadfast reason to even put his guard down in the first place then. No matter how many good things are said about the other, Lorelei will still remain skeptical and doubtful until he can see results for himself. Don't take it personally if he's snippy, honestly, he's like that with everyone.

As Lorelei is a very guarded person, he doesn't share information about himself, or things closely related to himself, very easily. Even small talk, like asking about his favorite color, would only earn yourself an annoyed grunt in response. (Also partially because he sees small talk as a distraction from his projects. Its best not to meddle between him and his work, especially when you're already on thin ice with him.) Getting any type of information from Lorelei is like pulling teeth from a crocodile.

Lorelei doesn't take care of himself, which is kind of obvious with how tired he is all the time. It isn't a rare occurrence to see him asleep at a screen because he's been pulling all nighters for the last couple of days. Even though Lorelei is seemingly unfazed by projects, this man is stressed out easily by deadlines, and is screaming very loudly on the inside, before taking a sip of his 5th cup of coffee that evening. It doesn't help in the slightest, that he forces himself to be like this (the rest of the team doesn't support his work habits at all, as it's quickly deteriorating his health and it worries them.) 

Marcus will regularly give Lorelei tar for not sleeping, eating, and generally not taking care of himself, if he finds out about it (which is usually through another member of LA DedSec going "Please talk some sense into your elder brother, he's being stupid.") When that happens, Lorelei will try his best to sort out himself and take a break, but unfortunately it doesn't last very long as he easily falls back into old habits.

In summary: Lorelei is just a tired and grouchy hacker, who has severe trust issues. 

• Interests:

-Reading; That's right, he's a bit of a book nerd. Well, for anything that isn't considered the type of "classic" you have to read for a month in a boring English class. Growing up, he and Marcus both really had enjoyed the horror and sci-fi genres, and it still continues to this day. (If you went to Lorelei's house, you'll find a book in progress in almost every room.) He does enjoy other genres, like adventure novels or coming-of-age stories. (He may like a couple of cheesy romance novels too, but he'd die before you could ever get him to confess that.)

-Calligraphy; It's a hobby of his that no one really expects. Lorelei is FAR from the type of person to sit down and do something to help relax his agitated nerves, but when Sam got him a book on calligraphy (as they knew he liked to read,) he couldn't not accept the gift. It started a healthy outlet for Lorelei, he couldn't deny that he got enjoyment from watching the ink transfer smoothly from pen to paper. Hey, it also makes Sam happy, which makes him happy in return. Other than calligraphy, Lorelei doesn't have the patience for any other "artistic" things.

-Kick Boxing & BMX; Unlike his brother, Lorelei isn't that much or a parkourist (he's tried, and failed, several times,) but he still rather liked to work out and exercise, just more in his "own" way (seriously, being the only person in the LA DedSec who can't climb and jump from building to building, like some goddamn monkey, is rather embarrassing!) Not only is kickboxing a fantastic stress and anger reliever for Lorelei, he rather enjoys doing it and looks forwards to each of his monthly classes. BMX was just something that he and Marcus did growing up together and he's stuck with it. Unfortunately, he hasn't ridden a real full-sized bike in years, and probably would have a hard time now. If something is too far away to walk, but also too far away to justify a bus ticket or car ride, he'll ride the bike, no matter how comically awkward it looks like on occasion. (Aka, when he looks and feels like a sore old man.)

-Film Production; Despite eventually dropping out because Lorelei just couldn't afford it anymore, he actually went to film school! Even though he and Marcus grew up quite close and found similar interests in things, Lorelei wasn't really that into computers (and by extension, hacking.) Sure, it was an interest of his, and he enjoyed it as well as being pretty darn good, but it just wasn't where his main passion was. There was something so mystical to him about the whole process of making a movie, from the script writing, to directing and recording (he enjoyed the recording portion the most!) Though, he will admit that after actually going to school for movie and film production changed his stance on technology as a whole, ending up with his interests being aligned with the world of hacktivism (and Marcus followed suit himself.) 

Lorelei still produces short films as a hobby of his, often getting other members of LA DedSec to act and just generally help him out. For a while, he also worked as a cameraman for a news broadcast.

•  Trivia:
  
  - Lorelei is a bit of a Movie buff, and ut stens from him mostly having gone to Film School. He has a small collection of movies, classics he enjoys, something he and Marcus could watch while he's visiting, and the movie adaption he has of his favorite books (which he primarily has for collectors reasons; more often or not the book was better anyways.) He also has a huge annoyance with how hacking is portrayed in movies, often grumbling about the inaccuracy.
• - Lorelei enjoys listening to audio books, especially after a deadline passes and he's lectured about his health. It isn't because he prefers them for any reason beyond that he just likes falling asleep to them, and the calming voice talking. As soothing as it is, his "naps" can last a long time-- his record was two days. 
• - Lorelei tries his best not to slouch while at a screen, but old habits die hard and he always finds himself doing exactly that. Everywhere else, he doesn't have that bad of a posture actually, it's just always while he's at a keyboard.
