Quyance Meris (Untitled AU)

please excuse the lack of a name here hbjgk I can't think of a name for this yet

but basically au where his parents aren't killed and therefore he stays in high rock, working with his parents at their tavern <3 he still ends up being dragonborn, but he doesn't find this out until a dragon comes over to high rock to fuck some shit up. and then it takes a lot of researching to figure out what the fuck's happening to him. eventually he learns what it means and he heads to skyrim. so yeah

he does end up regaining most of his scars (excluding the ones over his eye, stomach and self harm scars) bc the world still keeps trying to kill him

also he's childhood friends with Virile in this au (and she comes with him when he goes to skyrim because she's worried he's gonna get himself killed). he lives to annoy the living shit out of her <3 he almost exclusively refers to her as his sister

annoying bastard <33 he is soooo dramatic and obnoxious and i love that for him.  he's also still a flirtatious bastard and is frequently flirting with the diners, which virile yells at him for.

like, overall, he is pretty similar to normal quyance. he's just not depressed as fuck and hates everything. he's a lot nicer, tho he is still prone to being a rude bastard. but this time he doesn't always MEAN to be and he actually will apologize if he's unintentionally rude. he still won't apologize if he was being intentionally rude tho lmao.
he has a lot more hope for the world, and while he still has anxieties and fears and is stressed as hell over being dragonborn, it's not AS bad. because he doesn't feel like he's a terrible person, so therefore he feels more capable/worthy of having the role. he still worries that he's not the right choice because he's inexperienced (and still gets all those awful side effects from being dragonborn, tho not AS badly because he actually takes care of himself), but he's not as worried about it. and tbh the idea of being a protagonist IS kinda cool to him. it definitely gives him a bit of an ego to be the main character lmaooo.
