The Island

It doesn't have a name (and I may or may not give it one later), but it's the fictional island where Annie, Arthur, Eliane & Maggie live. I'll just call it "The Island" for now.

Originally, the characters in this story lived on Neopets' Mystery Island (hence why they're all Neopet species). I gave them their own separate island a few years later because, after I stopped playing Neo, I decided that I wanted to make up my own, real-world-based settings for all of my characters and move them out of Neopia. In retrospect, I'm not sure if that decision really made sense for this story, since I wanted to keep everyone's Neopet designs and a lot of their Mystery Island-based culture. So now I'm thinking that this island is indeed part of Neopia, and it is a miniature island just off of Mystery Island's coast- separate from the main island, but still part of Mystery Island's territory.

The Island is small (think Maui-sized), and, much like its neighbor, it is covered in lush, tropical rain forest with a beautiful shoreline. The forests can be a pretty rugged place to go hiking if you're not used to the terrain, but they still offer beautiful views of exotic plants and animals that are unique to the area. This island also has its own volcano separate from the one on the Mystery Island, and while it hasn't erupted in any of the current residents' lifetimes, The Island still has an evacuation plan in order should that ever change (it's just one of those things that's in the back of everyone's minds, but nobody really worries too much about it). Because of all the beautiful sights there are to see, The Island can be a busy tourist destination in the summertime, although it is usually less crowded than the main island; it's a great place to visit if you just want to relax, soak up some sun, and maybe catch a few waves if you're a surfer.

The Island is home to one large city and a few smaller, rural areas just outside of it. All of these characters live near the suburbs of the main city.
