Backstory

Past

Nathalie was born to a divorced single mother, who wanted nothing more in life than fame as a movie star. However, she was stuck in a dead-end job as an accountant, so she decided to live out her dream through her daughter. From the age of two, Nathalie has been enrolled into bi-yearly beauty pageants, which she never particularly cared for -- she would always put up a fight before going on stage. Her mother still was determined to have Nathalie live out her dream, so she forced Nathalie to begin acting classes when she turned four. For ten long years, Nathalie would be in various stage productions, which she hated. She didn't want to do this at all, but her mom REALLY wanted her to. After ten years of pageants and plays, Nathalie's mother presented the young teen with what could only be the worst news of her life: she had "finally" gotten her first TV role. From this, Nathalie was furious. In the middle of the night, she packed all of her belongings, stole her mother's car, and drove to the next city over to move in with her other mom -- a guitarist whose divorced wife was always jealous of. When she arrived at her apartment, she explained what's been happening for practically her entire life. She took her in right away, promising that she'd never have to deal with her mother again. From then on, Nathalie took on the nickname Stella, dyed her hair blonde (with just a bit of pink), learned to play her mom's guitar, and began writing pop-punk songs. She began posting videos of herself playing her songs online, which left people awestruck -- her voice was passionate and full of emotion, her songs were full of energy, but her facial expressions and movements were stoic and stiff. The contrasting energies of the song and her appearance baffled people, which essentially made them all come back for more.

Present

Today, Stella is a famous pop-punk singer, still wowing people with their interesting performances and personality. To this day, people are shocked to see their music videos after hearing their song on the radio. They expect to see an energetic girl jumping around and shouting, but all they see is an emotionless girl moving around stiffly. They don't dance, jump around, or anything like that -- they just walk, sing into a mic, and/or play their guitar. Of course, they aren't really this emotionless, but nobody knows this except for their mom. She's the only person who has seen their full smile, tears, and anger -- and as of now, she's one of the only people they trust to see that side of them. True to her word, Stella's mom has protected them from their mother and the two still haven't conversed since the day Stella ran away. Their mom is very supportive of them, as a true mother should be, and refuses so let them feel trapped by their music career. If Stella decided to drop music and start going to school, she would be behind them one-hundred percent of the way.
