Roy Lane's Links
[Heir] Roy knows Lan is incredibly powerful and all-knowing, and though he trusts the being is helping him, he can't help but feel like a frustrated pawn on a chessboard.
In the future when Lan reaches his end, Roy finds himself becoming a vessel for him, funneling darkness and serving as a somewhat host for the element since it can no longer take human form. It's an overwhelming power, but he learns to control it. He has to if he's going to fight Light.
From the very moment Light fell in love, Lan knew he needed a form of... insurance. He got two beings working under him to take Roy from his kingdom and help raise him for the day Ark would start attacking.
Even then, Lan's aware of his gradually depleting strength, and even with a legendary weapon Roy isn't ready to face off against Ark.
Just as Ark is a host for light, Roy too will have to become one for the embodiment soon enough.
[Rivals/Childhood Friends] From the very beginning they've been friends, bonded by their unusual traits - Roy's white hair and Ark's blind eye. They grew up watching each others backs, the only ones they could confide to.
Roy was happy when his friend got engaged and had a child. But by the time he heard about their passing, Ark had disappeared off the face of the earth. He searched everywhere for him, only to find him years later with a new name and a new appearance, claiming to help save the world.
Roy still has a difficult time understanding just what's happened to Ark. It breaks his heart, and he'll do whatever he can to save him... but... he may have to come to terms with the fact that there's no saving Ark anymore...
[Rivals/Childhood Friends] Ark didn't always have the name he does now, or the golden eyes and white hair. Back in his childhood, he was a relatively average child, save his blind eye. There was only one child that cared about him and not his connections, a young boy with snow white hair. They were best friends for years, always trusting each other and relying on each other.
But then Ark lost his fiance and his daughter, and something inside him broke. He was convinced everyone was the same, and with nothing but the deepest hatred controlling his thoughts, he abandoned Roy and focused on total obliteration.
He won't lie, though, that there are times he tried to see how Roy was doing, only to surprisingly never be able to track him, even with light manipulation. Now he's found him, surprised to see that he's learned about his lineage, and that he will be the next Darkness.
It's fitting that his friend would be his opposite, but it doesn't matter. If Roy intends to stop Ark, then he'll just stop him like all the others.
Litari being Italy and Anthea Germany, the two kingdoms are relatively close to each other. The two kings are kind and understanding of each other. Although Roy isn't entirely sure what it's like to be a frog, he definitely sympathizes with not being able to be on the throne for years. He judges Bal to be a strong leader with good intentions, and looks forward to building a strong alliance with him.
Bal always knew Litari had an heir to the throne. After all, you don't rule a kingdom and not attempt to have an heir for years. He was surprised, though, when the king and queen's life ended quickly, and that their missing son returned shortly after. He finds it suspiciously well-timed, but he has to admit that Roy seems to be good-hearted, if not a little naive. He knows the boy is trustworthy and looks forward to building an alliance with his kingdom.

Saurin doesn't really have any bias towards Roy. If his Princess supports him greatly, then Saurin will only do the same.
He does find Roy amusing at some points. The man appreciates his leadership abilities, even if he finds him goofy or lazy at different times.
Saurin clearly continues to be confident, believing that Roy couldn't stand up to the mage's powerful tricks.
What better sword teacher to have than the champion of his girlfriend's kingdom? Roy's aware of Siegfried's feelings, and the tension isn't lost on him, but he still admires the champion and wishes to learn from him. He also wants to be able to someday call Siegfried a friend, but that may just be a pipe dream...
He had fallen in love with the Princess. However because of her title, their relationship could not take anything further. Even if he waited, he eventually finds out that she falls in love with another man of a kingdom beyond the walls of their kingdom.
Eitherway, he has no choice but to respect Roy. He was even willing to train the man in the ways of the sword - a particular skill that Siegfried was best at. Sometimes he enjoys teaching Roy, sometimes he just finds it a hassle. In the end, he still feels somewhat indifferent about this lad.
[Love Interest] Elabelle was one of the first people Roy met since his coronation that he's actually liked... that was around his age, at least. She wasn't like the other princesses, or even the other girls he had ever been around. She's a bit of a free spirit and had this confident air to her. It's safe to say he was smitten from the start.
Roy enjoys spending his time around her and loves showing her things common people do, showing her cities and parks, and even introducing her to exotic foods. Like Hot Pockets.
Even if Elabelle was a free woman to roam around, she wasn't particularly the kind of woman to be able deal with foreign policies - let alone any other foreign matters. Therefore she was never given the opportunities to go anywhere beyond her Kingdom and Belvar. Once she first discovered Roy, a man who was outside of her home, she began to develop feelings for him since the start.
What he enjoys about Roy is his easy going, laidback attitude. Although it's not very king-worthy, she knows that Roy is probably much smarter than what people expect him to be.
Roy's never quite kept up to date about who works in his castle, so when he saw Trolly, he didn't really question it. The man is... strikingly handsome, however, even the king admits that. It's... somewhat worrying for Roy, especially considering his entire kingdom questions him daily over his preferences.
Trolly serves as a knight in the kingdom of Litari, and he seems to take a special interest in His Highness. Of course, this teasing man loves to make gentle jokes at him, often those of the "flirtatious" variety.
Roy doesn't quiet remember the first time he met Clayton. It just feels like... they've always known each other. Although it could very well possible that all the chaotic events that had happened to him upon arriving at the castle melded together into one blurred memory. He does find Clayton to be an excellent butler (although he's never really had a butler to compare), but it's so hard to be around him! Clayton is so quiet! He's always there when Roy least expects him! He feels like no matter what he's doing he's always being watched!
Clayton doesn't seem to hold any strong feelings towards the king, merely thinking of him as a new employer. Roy seems to be nice enough, always trying to engage him in conversation, but if it's not orders than Clayton doesn't really listen. He does, however, appreciate the constant compliments over the castle's cleanliness.
When hearing that part of his kingdom was getting attacked by unaligned forces, Roy went over personally to stop it, only to get kidnapped by the leader himself. It took a while, but eventually Roy was able to free himself, and in doing so he learned more about Yeeharr and his noble causes. He decided to offer the pirate a chance to join him by working high up in his navy. His kingdom is definitely wary of this, but Yeeharr's proven to be a valuable asset.
It's a strange set of events. Originally Yeeharr wanted to raid some areas in Roy's kingdom, but the king himself went to try and stop him. It was a valiant effort, one that gained the captain's admiration. So naturally, he kidnapped Roy to try and get him to join his crew. After a long set of events, Yeeharr ended up swearing his loyalty to Litari and decided to help the young king along by aiding his navy when they needed help.
[Related] With the entire world believing him to be a cruel monster, Roy disappeared so that his family wouldn't be seen as connected and thus spared the world's rage. With the darkness filtering through him, he was able to hide in the shadows and watch his family in secret. With En in deep trouble, Roy appears in disguise to offer advice and guidance. He knows what it's like to have the world turn on you.
[Related] En never grew up knowing his father. All he'd ever heard were the stories about how ruthless and evil the first King En was, stealing the powers of darkness in order to kill off the light. It's frightening but... he still wishes he could talk to him. At least just once.
[Related] Allegro was Roy's pride and joy, which made things hard when he heard about his passing. He blamed himself for a good amount of time, wishing he could have been there to prevent his son's death from happening. All he can do now is protect En and make sure he doesn't meet the same fate.
[Related] Allegro vaguely remembers his father, and doesn't seem to recall him being as monstrous and corrupt as the world claims. He knows not to talk about it, having been told so by his mother, but he is amused over how this started in the first place.
[Related] Roy stayed in the shadows over the years, watching his lineage grow. He supposed he should have expected something like this to happen. Just another issue to add on the list.
[Related] August has heard plenty of stories of his ancestors, all of which had incredible battles. He envies those times and wishes he had been in their position. What heart racing moments they must have had!
[Related] Even to this day Roy is around, controlling the shadows and darkness and making sure things are balanced. Who would've thought more chaos would've come from his bloodline. Although it looks like Fate brought in yet ANOTHER relative of his to save the day, so the least he can do is help.
[Related] Apparently the mighty ancestor she's a descendant of. She'd heard of him, but only like a fairytale, she never really gave much thought to it. It definitely explains that streak of white in her hair she can never get rid of.

As much as he wanted to strike his blade right through Roy, he promised the Princess that he wouldn't inflict any sort of physical pain onto him. Even if the Conqueror isn't one for taking promises quite seriously, his kindness towards Elabelle carries over to Roy as he has no choice.
When Roy was new to his kingdom he encountered a small octopus-like creature that was treated harshly by the sirens. Being half-human and new to this land, he understood what it was like to be an outcast and helped the creature out. He didn't expect, however, for Kraken to turn out like he did. Still, he's happy for the little guy (and he'll definitely still call him "little guy") and is happy he's found his way in life.
Now, Roy's always been convinced that he's a straight man... Maybe. I-I mean, it's hard NOT to question things when Aldrik's right there! That-That didn't sound weird, did it?
R-Regardless, Roy treasures his friendship with Aldrik and is glad to have a place he can come to when the world is pushing back on him.
Aldrik always finds himself questioning his sexuality whenever Roy comes around. He assumed it was just an intense admiration at first, but soon realized he saw Roy as a man. Er a guy. No, a very very good close friend who...just happened to be a man. A very handsome one at that.
Oh wow. It's not everyday that someone recognizes his works instead of, well, almost ending the world. It reminds him of his life before everything happened, it's nice.
Dan does not care about this man's political position, whether evil or good. What he DOES care about is that he wrote several catchy jingles for some of his favorite toothpastes. This man is his hero.
This is all Bud Light's fault.
Roy... Well okay, he CLAIMS he's straight but lately? Lately he's not so sure. Even LESS sure when he met a guy as pretty as Ren. Imagine his horror when he learned that he got so drunk on Bud Light that he tried flirting with Ren, OR that Ren was a therapist!! How exactly does Roy explore these confusing feelings with the guy that started them all?!
"... Mr. Lane is a very 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 patient indeed."
He meant that in a non-positive way btw. As a 𝒕𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 ethical and responsible practitioner, Ren should have referred Roy to another therapist upon knowing that the god has the hots for him, yet he couldn't help but want to keep him around for some reason. Ren's convinced that he's doing it out of pity for poor Roy and he absolutely refuses to accept any other explanation for it.
