Present/Post-Apocalypse Bio:

The initial shock of a zombie outbreak had both Skit and her family's life on pause. Days moved slow and their hope for a solution to the outbreak moved even slower. Skit didn't realize how long her mind had secluded itself until a friend reached out to her. She ended up spilling all of her fears and feelings onto this friend when they met up, and continued to do so every time they saw each other. With enough assurance and care, this friend was able to ease Skit emotionally, leaving an impact large enough to bring her closer to them than she had ever been with anyone in the last few days. The bond only strengthened as conversations of survival and a better future together started to surface. Eventually, the friend proposed that they stick together if they ever find themselves in a situation where one or both of them must leave their town. Although Skit was convinced that she needed a best friend and a good ally for the challenges of the future, she did not give a clear answer to the idea.

When the inevitable town eviction crept up in only a matter of days, Skit's family was given the opportunity to be moved to a safehouse/shelter some ways away from the town. Although she had a feeling that tried to pull her along with her family to be relocated, she decided to take the offer of venturing with and supporting her friend. Her mother was completely against the idea, not wanting to let Skit take the risk of dying out there, while Skit's younger sister could not cope with the fact that she probably wouldn't see her again. As much as it hurt Skit to leave her family, and as much as it hurt her family to see her leave, she knew they would be safe, but her closest friend wouldn't be. With this in mind, she hoped her family would soon understand that if the situation with her friend were reversed, they would have wanted her to be safe with someone she could trust. After her family's leave, she found herself at her friend's doorstep, shaken but ready to start a new life... and that she did.

Their first two weeks of survival were a walk in the park considering all the available resources within the somewhat empty town were to their disposal.

After that time period, supplies started dwindling down from both their usage and the usage of the few others in the town. The remaining citizens got rowdier, and raids started taking place. At this point, Skit was assigned to keep her two-man team alive by scavenging for remaining supplies from houses and lowly populated areas. She gained a general knowledge of hunting for necessities and keeping a low profile.

She heard of the first zombie attack by the third week, when she realized just how serious her situation was. With the help of her friend, she was able to keep her sanity as zombie attacks started frequenting in their area.

It wasn't long until Skit had the pleasure of witnessing her friend face one of the beings after it had broken into their residence. She never wanted to come to the conclusion of killing, or general violence, but when she stumbled upon the painfully slow defeat of her friend, she ended its terror with many bashings to its head until it lay completely lifeless. She ended up saving her friend. Since then she sparked a defensive behavior as the need to keep her friend safe grew with each threat.

They eventually had to get up and run out of their town, going in any direction that seemed even the slightest bit of safe.

During the journey, they were both met with unsavory meetings, fights, and points of low hope. With each occurrence, Skit was able to strengthen her mindset and abilities, learning how to wield guns and scavenge for long-lasting supplies. All of her journey revolved around keeping herself and her friend alive and functioning.

It was something she was able to do well until a morning came where her friend was out of sight and their supplies were missing. Her stomach turned through the couple days she waited for their hopeful return. She had no clues to tell her what had happened to them, and surrounding areas didn't aid her in her search. Skit was forced to move on after zombies started to claim said surrounding areas. She waited as long as she could, and came to the conclusion that her friend wouldn't be returning any time soon as the hordes neared.

Starting from scratch and without much of a sense of direction, Skit found it harder to trudge on, considering her friend was the brains of their team. She was able to stumble upon fair weather friends who helped her with survival tactics and supplied her well, but it wasn't an often thing for her to come by.

In the present day, she makes do with what she can. She tries to avoid combat, but will pull a trigger or grasp a weapon to defend those who she is capable of defending. Still holding on to the idea of a better future, and a better afterlife for her missing friend, she continues on, seeing every battle won as a step to a better life.

Additional:
+ Although scatter-brained, she has a few long-term goals; find her friend if he's still alive, find her family, and aid in finding a possible cure. She has no idea where to start on any of those things, occasionally crying out during times of hopelessness.
+ Skit is the nickname that was given by her friend. She uses it as of it were her birth name.
+ She regrets leaving her family, but doesn't regret helping her friend. Hearing her birth name reminds her of the family that she considers lost.
+ Although she is good with guns, she prefers melee weapons to avoid unnecessary noises that may attract anything terrible to her.
+ When alone, she has trouble sleeping in areas she feels are not safe, this causes her to stay up most of the night.
+ Her skin is generally sensitive to the sun's rays. She is used to the slight skin peeling and dryness, and gets occasional sunburns during harsh and hot weather.
