About
Clara is very intelligent, in both an academic sense and creative sense. She's very good at experimenting -- she's willing to take risks, creative, and willing to do as much trial-and-error to get her results. However, there's one thing about her that holds her back a bit: she is incredibly shy. It's almost impossible for Clara to get a word in a conversation with someone's she's not familiar with -- she absolutely hates it. If she isn't working with Izzy, she has to work alone. Even working alongside Izzy is a bit hard -- Izzy is a lot weirder than her, so she likes to do a lot of out-of-the-box experiments. Clara doesn't entirely mind it, but she really wishes that Izzy was more... grounded.
At work, Clara does buckle down and do whatever odd experiments Izzy has planned for the day. Even working on Izzy's weird Frankenstein-esque monster, which still bewilders her after all these years of working alongside Izzy. Even though she isn't entirely as strange as Izzy, Clara is very happy with her job. She really feels honored to work alongside such an amazing genius.

Past
From the moment she was born, Clara knew she had a future in biological science. Both of her parents were accomplished zoologists, and would frequently do what they could to spark an interest in science in Clara, which absolutely worked. She has always adored biology, but unlike her parents, she found human biology to more interesting than animals. At school, Clara breezed through her classes, especially science classes. However, because of her shy demeanor, people would often bully her. This bullying resulted in her grades declining, much to the chagrin of her teachers, who knew she could do better. Her grades became worse and worse as the bullying worsened as well. They remained that way, until high school, where she practically tested out of all of her STEM classes, which was astounding to people looking at her transcript. Because of her test results, she was allowed into the university in her town. There, she realized her bullies weren't around, so she was able to achieve dazzling grades once again. From there, she breezed through her classes once again, earning her bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in biology at a rather young age. Her shyness never really went away, but she went very far in her academic career. She was noticed at a master class given by an acclaimed scientist, Izzy. Izzy was so impressed by Clara's intellect that she offered her a position as her lab assistant. Clara easily accepted, excited to see where this venture would lead her to.
Present
To this day, Clara still works in Izzy's lab. She finds the experiments the two conducts to be quite odd, but it would be a total lie to say that she dislikes her work, even a little bit. Yes it's weird and unorthodox, but she's still doing exactly what she dreamed of her entire life. She was able to succeed in life, despite the bullying she had to endure as a child. Her parents couldn't be prouder of her, as with her previous teachers. Even Izzy is incredibly proud of Clara and her accomplishments, which means the entire world to Clara.

Clara and Izzy met at one of the master classes Izzy gave a lecture at. Clara was so bright and intelligent, Izzy couldn't help but pull her aside and give her an offer she couldn't refuse: a job. She thought that Clara's intelligence was up to par with her own, so she just had to offer her a position working in her lab. Clara saw this as a very amazing opportunity and eagerly accepted. The fact that someone as influential as Izzy recognized Clara's own brilliance was a massive achievement for her. She admires Izzy's own intelligence... along with almost everything about her. As juvenile as it is, she does frequently fantasize about dating Izzy. The only problem for her is that Izzy doesn't reciprocate those feelings at all. She isn't aware of the fact that Clara likes her, but even if she did know, she just wouldn't be interested. It is practically an open secret that Izzy isn't interested in real humans at all -- she wants to marry a monster or alien, if they exist.
