David is literally me. He's a big dork with an interest in anime, manga, drawing, animating, reading, and the beach. He especially loves Germany and it's been his life dream to go there. So here's his life story, which is a basic summary of long-winded rant about my own.

David has always been described by others as an intelligent kid. When he was supposed to be in preschool, his parents read the Harry Potter books to him, and he began reading them on his own by second grade. He preferred non-fiction over fiction until fifth grade with the exception of the Harry Potter series. He's always been an avid reader and still is, even though his tastes have drastically changed. Despite his decent eye for situational behavior, he's never had a good fashion sense, and can be seen wearing pajamas to social outings or sweatpants and a denim jacket to fancy events. It can also be noted that he never wears anything short-sleeved, even in the summer. His outfits are rather creative, however--most of his life revolves around creativity. He loves to draw, write, create OCs, and make animations. On most of his art-related websites, he goes by the username weltschmerz-drachen. In German, "Weltschmerz" is a feeling of world weariness and melancholy, while "Drachen" is the plural form of "dragon" and refers to his love for his dragon characters. This username got its start on his DeviantArt and has caught on ever since. He's in the LupisVulpes fandom and loves emo dogs, dragons, creating custom characters for other people, and animating bouncy noodles. Recently, he's been dabbling in the punk scene due to two fake friends ditching him, falling back into his depression and anxiety. His favorite music genres have always been death metal and rock. Recently added to his repertoire are electro swing, Japanese pop, and German traditional music.

Since he was really young, like around 5, David knew he wanted to be a boy. He never really spoke to his parents about it, only dropped subtle hints, as people of that age do--denying dresses and skirts, outright saying he wished he wasn't a girl, etc. It didn't really work, since his parents thought it was just him being "cute" and completely disregarded it. When he was in third grade, he was forced to transfer to a different school for a year. It was a Catholic school, which he dreaded, since he's an atheist, but even worse was the fact they were forced to wear uniforms. Lo and behold, since he was biologically female, he had to wear a skirt.

He was not happy about this in the slightest and made it as obvious as he could that he wanted to wear pants instead. He did all sorts of ridiculous things to get the teachers' attention, such as flip up the skirts of other students, hang upside-down on things that weren't meant to be hung upside-down from, and even go to school in all his clothes minus the skirt. As one could guess, it worked quite well, and not only was he allowed to wear pants, but he didn't have to go to that "stupid awful dumb rich religious kid school" again. In fact, he's not even allowed to go there anymore even if he wanted to.

Around 5, he also began watching One Piece, which has always been a huge influence in his life. While it is technically his first anime, he classifies Soul Eater as that, since One Piece is more of an escape than anything. He now has a wide range of manga and anime he loves, including but not limited to Black Butler, Bleach, Corpse Party, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Loveless, Pokemon, One Piece, Parasyte, Soul Eater, Space Dandy, and Tokyo Ghoul.

At fourth grade, David met who would soon be one of his biggest life changers. This person (who shall be referred to as Puff for their privacy) had just entered his elementary school and didn't seem to be making friends well. He befriended this person and they were practically attached at the hip, never seen anywhere without each other. They went through middle school as best friends, acquiring the title of the nerd clique. They even graduated eighth grade together, giving each other a fist bump and a hug onstage when they received their diplomas. Especially notable was that they went to the same high school and entered an anime club, where David would meet his future girlfriend (who I shall call Wings to protect her identity).

In high school, David and Puff met another soon to be best friend (who shall be called Rex for their privacy) halfway through Freshman year. This was exciting for David, since he's never truly been one to make friends quickly. The three ended up in a polyamorous relationship at the school's Homecoming dance, and ended up doing everything together--so it seemed.

It turns out Puff and Rex completely "forgot" about David when they wanted to do some things. He could understand though, as he was a rather forgettable person, they had ADD, and his psychosis and mild autism did tend to get in the way when people wanted to talk with him, as he put it. The other two were forgiven, but he did get mild twinges of jealousy when they talked about all the fun times they had and the things they did together. A few months later it only got worse. Puff and Rex broke up with him and each other, leaving him alone, and immediately fell for other people. This made David suspicious, since they both ended up doing this at about the same time, but he just figured the wounds were still fresh and they wanted to fill the hole. But once they broke up with those people, he got suspicious again, since they were the ones who left HIM.

All of a sudden, for the rest of the year, he noticed drama popping up around him with Puff and Rex. All he'd here at lunch was, "So THIS person got with THAT person," and, "Ugh! This toxic bitch said a stupid thing on my Musical.ly account! Now we're arguing!" and, "I left this person because they weren't nice, and they're STILL trying to talk to me!"

He was getting a little sick of it, but oh well. They were his friends, right? Not to mention the only two within the school he had. His other friend, Wings, lived an hour and a half away, and he'd been grounded for life from the anime club, so the only way they could communicate was over text.

Once summer came, on a trip to Chincoteague and Assateague before summer camp started, he realized he had feelings for Wings and confessed to her (albeit in a bad mood at the time, since his moron little brother kept kicking him in the shins) over Skype messaging. She said she'd have to think about it, and David got so panicked he cried himself to sleep. (Didn't tell anyone, though, for fear of sounding like he was guilt tripping.) Once summer camp rolled around, he had to leave for two sessions: one normal one-week session and a special program called the Rangers program, which lasted two weeks. She still hadn't made her mind up but cried  both times he had to leave. Camp was one of the best times of his life, and in the Rangers program he got to try out whitewater rafting and rock climbing, both of which he enjoyed. When he got back, Wings agreed to be his girlfriend, and they started dating.

Sophomore year was when things started getting a little out of whack. Rex was dating someone else, as was Puff, and they were both people who held disdain for David. All of them were in a Dungeons & Dragons group together, which lasted three months, and by the end of it Puff and Rex both ended up having those people ditch them. David had to start a month-long intensive outpatient program in February after having been to the hospital for suicide attempts three times his whole high school career, which cut him off from his afternoon classes--German being one of them. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be devastated or not. When he discharged in March, the day he came back, he found out his D&D group disbanded, and was thrown back into devastation. Puff and Rex were dating each other at the time and he didn't know until they kissed.

It was then things truly began spiraling downhill. Puff and Rex began ignoring David in the mornings, then wondering why he wasn't talking to them. At lunch, they'd constantly be making out and doing all this PDA crap. It was making David jealous, not only because they all used to be a thing, but because Wings lived so far away that they couldn't even hold hands. The drama was also increasing and overwhelming him, and he decided to go on medication. After a screening for yet another suicidal attempt, he saw a psychiatrist who started him on Zoloft.

The last day of school was a living hell. Rex continuously asked David over text how he got suspended for a week by Puff's sister and if it even happened. He kept explaining that it DID happen and he was NOT comfortable talking about it, which prompted Rex to continuously ask him for "proof" and "facts". Eventually, he got so fed up with their probing that he told them to fuck off. Later that night, he went on their Musical.ly (which he never does because it's the dumbest thing to exist in his opinion) and found a certain horrible video with the caption, "Puff and I just got rid of a toxic person." He contacted Rex, making sure they were okay, and it ended up being him they were talking about.

This of all things truly threw him back into self-loathing hell. They began yelling at him, telling him all the things he'd done "wrong" throughout their friendship--which ended up being all the things THEY did wrong. David was sent into a rage, but eventually came to terms with the label they threw at him.

Now, in the summer, as of writing, he is waiting to go on a trip to Berlin, Germany, and is recovering fairly well from that whole incident with those shit-stained pieces of underwear baking on the side of the road. He and Wings are still in a relationship, looking forward to the next time they can hang out.
