Damon was born and raised in the type of small town where everyone knows everybody. Since he was very small, he's had an interest in reading and writing. He loves mystery more than anything and is a sucker for any story with a gloomy atmosphere and strange characters- being somewhat of a gloomy, strange character himself. He is shy about his looks- he sees himself as big and bumbling and scary- too shy to start a conversation and too intimidating to be spoken to. He was raised by two lovely mothers with a tendency to spoil their lonely only child. Damon was never one to mingle with lots of other people, but when he forms a close connection with someone, he is the most loyal friend one could ever ask for. He has a masters degree in English and a bachelors in mass communications.
Damon is quiet, solitary, and may come off to strangers as rude. You'll rarely find him outside of the house- but if you do it will be at the local library or the quiet tucked away coffee shop halfway across town- the baristas know his order by heart (London fog and an english muffin with apricot jam) and he feels comfortable sitting there for hours- he's typically the only person there. When he gets nervous, he has a habit of picking at his feathers. If he is excited or cold, his feathers puff up significantly, making him look even bigger than usual. Damon gets cold easily and tends to wear warmer clothes. His eyesight is pretty horrible.
For work, Damon writes freelance articles for a number of magazines and publishers. In his freetime, he loves to write mysteries and romance. He finishes a novel every other week and can be found at the library swapping out old books for new. He has a journal where he likes to summarize the plot points of books he is reading- for fun, he likes to try and deduce mysteries before they are revealed and write whether he was correct or not when he finishes. He also rates them and highlights his favorites. Writing is the easiest way for Damon to collect his thoughts and feelings- as speaking them out loud proves to be pretty difficult for him. Damon speaks with a lisp and a stutter and despite his expansive vocabulary and pensive nature- generally doesn't know what to say. He loves loose clothes, assorted tea, the sound of scissors cutting paper, and the feeling of time slipping away when he focuses on something he's enjoying.
Eucalyptus. Calm and centered, Damon keeps to himself and towers over those around him. Despite his presence, he can be a soothing friend through hard times.
Sage Green. Tranquil, observant, stagnant, isolated.
Autumn. Damon has an affinity for the macabre. His personality could come off as chilly and reserved.
Earth. Grounded and pensive. Damon is a slow mover who likes to play it safe and avoid massive change.
Malachite. Travel, culture, ornamentation, fragility.
Damon's aesthetic is professional, reserved, academic.
He loves loose-fitting clothes. Green, brown, cream, and gray are typical colors he wears. Sweaters, scarves, and ribbons are some typical items

Damon gravitates towards simple patterns- plaid, checkers, houndstooth, stripes. He loves ribbons and scarves around his neck- other neck accessories include ascots, ties, and bandanas. He tends to wear a wrist watch and carry a messanger bag.
Damon's journal. He mostly writes about books he's read, but there are snippets about his feelings, thoughts about work, little reminders, and the occasional pressed flower.
Filled to the brim with black, blue, and red pens. He has a treasured fountain pen that rarely sees any use, multicolored highlighters, a couple mechanical pensils, and white out.
He takes very good care of his lenses.

Rainer is Hadi's closest friend.
They met eachother while Rainer was running and Hadi was hiking on the same trail. They saw eachother super often, and always smiled and waved when they passed eachother. Once, Rainer stopped to see Hadi on their hands and knees looking at a bug, and they started talking to eachother, instantly clicking. They love to watch anime together- their favorite is Naruto. They know that they can both be fully open and exposed around eachother. Rainer knows exactly when Hadi is feeling overwhelmed, and exactly how to help them. They love to have picnics on the beach together. When they are talking, they both get really loud and boisterous. They can make eachother laugh with just a glance.
Hadi and their parents have a loving and supportive relationship.
They can go to their parents with any problem. They are just like Hadi- sensitive and kind. Hadi calls their mom "Mama" and their dad "Ayah." While they had a very hard time understanding Hadi as a young child, they always made sure to let them know that they were loved unconditionally and could confide in them. Their parents were some of the first people Hadi came out to, and while they didn't initially know what nonbinary meant, they never made Hadi feel like they couldn't be unapologetically themself.
Fatima is their older sister by 3 years and Adam is their younger brother by 7 years.
As children, Fatima teased Hadi and was annoyed by them, but also doted on them. Hadi always wanted to follow her around and play with her and her friends, but she obviously didn't want her little sibling constantly at her tail. She was the first person Hadi came out to, and being around her and her friends is what made Hadi begin to question their gender in the first place. Adam is much younger than the both of them and they are both protective of him. He and Hadi get along well, and Hadi does his best to make him feel included.
