Gaia

Gaia worked as a Retainer for a King and Queen for many years. Her main job was looking after their two children, twins Prince Roto and Princess Aki. She acted as a babysitter of sorts, but felt more like a permanent guardian to the children. She always treated them like they were her own flesh and blood; but this angered the Queen. She felt Gaia was too close to Roto and Aki. 

After a decade had passed since Gaia had been looking after the two, the Queen had enough. Often would Roto and Aki go to Gaia or the King whenever they were sad or scared, and rarely - if ever - would they seek their actual mother out. The children were so close with Gaia that they would sometimes accidentally refer to her as "mom" instead of her name. This only fueled the Queen's hate.

Shortly after, the Queen placed Gaia under arrest, under the suspicion that she was trying to seduce, or had already seduced, the King. The King knew it wasn't true however, and argued as such as best he could, but the Queen refused his defence, and ordered that Gaia be put to death.

A few days before her execution, the King made a plan to free Gaia and get her out of the Kingdom, so that the Queen would no longer be able to harm her. Thankfully the plan went off without a hitch, and Gaia was able to escape to another Continent. 

Gaia is a confident and kind woman, often acting as a stand-in mother to others out of habit. She only wants the best for her "children", after all, even if they're not biologically hers.

Trivia:

• Gaia occasionally finds various bugs living on her, such as caterpillars eating at her leaves or ladybugs taking a nap on her. It was a bit annoying at first, but she's come to accept it as part of her life in recent years.
• Gaia often smells of rose, lilac, and wood.
• Gaia is excellent at comforting others, and gives wonderful hugs.
