Introduction

A flock of ravens foretells Chetyre's arrival, perched on the backs of elk and wyverns. Indeed, it's hard to see him amongst his animals, half-hunched over in shyness and buried in several glaring swans. He keeps himself out of the way of his peers, and instead nestled with his menagerie, taking them along with him when he visits the mortal universes.

His visits are brief, but often, as he slips into graveyards and churches, into funerals and rites. Eyes sparkling with rapt fascination, he watches the mortals venerate their dead, dress the cadavers up, pray to their gods. It is the starkest difference between his world and theirs - the termination, the ending, the finality, and the way the mortals celebrate such a thing.

Glimpses of him at tombstones have spread whispers of a deity of the deceased, who watches over the fallen as they pass into the afterlife. Though Chet is flustered at the attention, he's more stressed over Linija's frustration towards him for 'overtaking' his status as deity of death. Too awkward and isolated to think of a way to repair their bridge, Chet just simmers in worry instead.

Guess he'll just go feed his birds....
