Drake is a bright, friendly young man. He can spark up a casual conversation with just about anyone. Though he's very chatty on the surface, Drake takes a while to extend trust to people, and may avoid talking in detail about his personal life. Generally, he's fairly optimistic, and believes that the universe will make sure things work out all right in the end - or at least, he tries to. He has no tolerance for those he believes to be malicious or evil, and struggles to get past first impressions. If he gets the wrong impression of someone, it might take a lot to convince him he was wrong about that person. Naturally, he finds it hard to "forgive and forget". While he rarely treats those he dislikes with hostility, he may act passive-aggressive or avoid them altogether.

biography

Drake grew up in a very Mormon, very white suburban household somewhere in the middle of California. When he worked out he was transgender in his late teens, only his older brother, Jakob, supported him. When Jakob died in a shooting, Drake was left alone and with a strong distaste for guns. Having lost the support of his remaining family, Drake spent the first few years of his adulthood drifting between minimum-wage jobs, lacking drive or purpose.

When Drake was twenty-three years old, he started manifesting unusual abilities. At first, it was just gut feelings that were often accurate, but several months later he began having recurring dreams of a strange site in the Californian hills. One day, he got in his car and started driving. He drove without a destination in mind, following nothing but his instincts. Eventually, rattling down a long, dusty dirt road, Drake saw it: the place from his dreams, also known as the Illuminati's West Coast US Regional Headquarters.

Naturally, the Illuminati took interest in this young man who'd allegedly stumbled across one of their compounds by accident. Drake was taken into custody, interrogated, and examined, after which they determined that he was presenting a rare side effect of exotic radiation exposure - in other words, he was a psychic. Drake was offered a position in the Psionics Division. With nothing else to do with his life, Drake accepted, and he's been working for the Illuminati ever since.

Drake is a small, very white young man with blue eyes and fine blond hair. He has very little body or facial hair and sunburns easily. His eyes and bodily fluids are faintly bioluminescent, a side effect of exotic radiation exposure, but the effect is only noticeable in total darkness. He prefers to dress in whites, blues, and yellows, primarily t-shirts or button-ups. He also has a collection of Illuminati-themed graphic tees, mostly for the joke.

tidbits
random events and fun facts involving this character
Drake is a furry artist and has assigned most of the people in the compound fursonas. His own fursona is, of course, a golden retriever.
Drake has a severe peanut allergy. Eating peanut butter could potentially kill him.
Drake is commonly mistaken for another person from the Psionics Division, a man named Dave who works with the Illuminati's finances. The squad generally calls him "Dave from Accounting".
While a flawed method, the Psionics Division will sometimes use a 250 card deck of Zener cards to measure the skills of its psychics. Drake scores about a 120 on average - the average nonpsychic will get around 50 correct, statistically speaking.
relationships

enrique
Enrique may have his faults, but he's a good man. I'd call him my best friend. I think he feels the same.

Enrique was one of the first people Drake met at the Illuminati compound. Granted, it was because Enrique was the one to escort him to a holding cell, but they managed to put that behind them. There is a comfortable bond between them; their existences just agree with each other.

chiang
Chiang's so cool, and super smart. Though I gotta admit, I don't always know what she's going on about.

Drake looks towards Chiang with a degree of respect and admiration. He comes to her first with any supernatural-related issues and generally defers to her judgement, though when the two are alone not much tends to happen.

dennis
He's a little too confident for his own good, I think. Acts like he thinks he's Gay James Bond. But he's charming enough that I still like him.

Drake and Dennis's relationship isn't as deep as others. They don't typically interact outside of the group. When they do, it's usually because Dennis needs something and he knows Drake has a hard time saying no.

vesta
Director Ellsworth is the scariest person I've ever met, but she's also a really good boss. I'm glad she's on our side.

Here's how it works: Drake does whatever Vesta tells him to, and everything goes smoothly. He doesn't really trust her as a person, but he certainly trusts her judgement. At the very least, he doesn't want to get into trouble.
