Sockhop is a hard working, no-nonsense pegasus. He treats everyone with respect and kindness, but is rarely given the same treatment. Despite this, he tries to do something every day to make the world a little better. Growing up in Equestria after Twilight Sparkle ascended to the throne has given him a different perspective of the world. Even though things are getting better, the seedy underbelly of Equestria still exists. He can be flirty, and perfers to show love through actions and words instead of gifts. He feels emotionless, but has had to set his emotions aside for a long time in order to survive.

Sockhop was born and raised in Stratusburg. He was raised in a difficult enviornment and hard to grow up quickly, robbing him of his foalhood. He left as soon as he was able, initially planning to attend Cloudsdale College but moving to the lower class end of Canterlot hoping to find a good job. He slowly but surely worked his way from a street musician to a manager position at Phoenix Down Records. He loves music and engaging with customers. He met Darling Melody when she came to the store looking for part-time stock work and became smitten after multiple visits and long talks into the night. The two of them have been going steady for two years now and regularly attend concerts together.
