Tania is a bit of a wildcard. She lives in a small treehouse in the woods, surviving off of hunting deer and other such animals with a spear, and growing food in her own various gardens. Medicines are made out of herbs and the sort as well. At first glance, she seems like a wild animal more than a person. However, this is where she gets complicated. At least once a night she strolls throughout the city, parading herself with a feisty sort of class and flirting her way through bars. She swaps between classy, batting her eyelashes and swaying her hips delicately as she sips on red wine to insane party girl, downing shots like a well-seasoned alcoholics and screaming from the tops of the bars. The only constant is her soul-link Dusty. Dusty accompanies her to every location, perched on her shoulder, chin at her heel, hidden in a purse-like all soul links she adores him, though she rarely allows him out of her sight. Other soul link pairs remark their warmth in reference to the closeness of the bond.

Soul link: A soul link is a human who is born with an unseen connection to an animal who is born at the same time as the human. Overseers recognize and can hunt down animals with soul links and follow the connection to the human so the two may meet. The bond between the two is miraculous, and even the toughest have melted to sweetness over their soul bond. Once the two are connected a miracle occurs. The human often times will gain a set of ears and a tail, though not always-and some are already born as kemonomimis especially if their bloodline comes from kemonomimis. Animals gain the ability to understand human principles, speech, mathematics, writing-anything a human can comprehend and more some say. Their human counterpart always gets the ability to transform into a mirror of their soul links form, only their eyes being different in most cases. Some animal bonds have gained the innate ability to turn into humanoid as well, though this is an incredibly rare phenomenon.  A connected bond means total understanding, emotions, desires, dreams, pain, fears, joys, memories-each will understand and feel everything the other felt, feels and will ever feel. Even if their personalities clash a soul link will always love and wish to protect the other. Before a bond, one or the other has the risk of death before they connect. When death occurs before they meet the soul will continue to be reincarnated until they meet and seal the bond-however this causes serious emotional and physical grief on the living partner. They also receive the memories of their deaths and past lives if death has occurred. Soul links are near immortal and can live for centuries if not stricken down by some form of assault or disease. The leading cause of soul link death is the murder or sickness that kills of one of the pair and the other dying of grief. "Imagine spending hundreds of years with an individual who is always there, listening to you, and understanding your everything in a way no one else could. You have experienced them, and they have experienced you. In a way, you are sharing two bodies and one mind. You are never alone. Even in a pitch black room with no one else you aren't alone. Their thoughts, their dreams-they are buzzing in the front of your mind. Then suddenly they are gone, and for the first time in your life you experience true silence."

Dusty is, for the most part, a clingy, happy, affectionate soul link. He wants nothing more than to press himself against Tania and feel her love. He wants her happy, to keep himself happy. However, under his jovial front, he is terrified. Guns, nightmares upon daymares of the shining bullets and narrowed eyes. Of his homeland being invaded life after life. His magnificent powerful form struck down six times over by humans. Greedy, disgusting creatures. He holds an internal hatred and wishes to punish those that harmed him so many times over. For all the other tigers and cubs that died to become a pretty rug. Tania has been gathering money. When he is grown they will return to his homeland across the ocean and be rid of all the poachers in the land. Their blood will stain his paws. Tania is there for him as well, the memories of his previous life give her as much pain-she feels everything he does plus the overlaying guilt of not being there to protect him. The soul link is both a blessing and a curse. However, Dusty doesn't immediately hate all humans and is content to have strangers pet him like an exotic pet and coo over his stripes. If anything the kinder, gentler humans cool his passions for killing them.
