BACKSTORY:

Eldritch is the king of a world called The Snowglobe, a magic realm that can only be accessed by stepping through an enchanted mirror on Earth.

He suffers from a disease which causes, among other things, progressive amnesia. It affects people differently, but in Eldritch's case, he has lost most of his childhood, teenage, and early adulthood memories. He cannot remember his coronation, but knows that he loves his kingdom dearly and is determined to serve it for as long as he can.

PERSONALITY:

Positive: Kind / Hardworking / Empathetic

Eldritch is sensitive and empathetic. He doesn't want to fail his people and the idea of being a bad king horrifies him. He wishes for all his subjects to live long and happy lives. He finds simple things beautiful and loves the natural beauty of his snow-covered kingdom.

But he's also naive, and despite his love for his kingdom, he sometimes makes rather poor, impulsive decisions regarding it. As he grows older, he becomes less reliable as a ruler, often failing to take things seriously or grasp the full depth of situations. He becomes more childish and unpredictable as he ages, possibly as a result of his deteriorating mind - though never loses his kindness.

Eldritch easily gets frustrated when things don't go to plan, and constantly worries that he's not doing enough for his people. Although he struggles to cope with his duties, he doesn't like letting anyone help him unless necessary, showing that he might have a sense of pride as well.

DESIGN:

Eldritch usually wears a blue tunic and a cape. His trousers are made from animal fur and are very insulated. His boots have studs on the underside designed to grip snow and ice.

His blue hair is usually frozen into stiff spikes and sparkling with frost. His eyes (usually hidden) are a pale shade of blue with no visible pupils, and appear slightly reflective, like a cat's eyes. He usually has light facial hair.

Both his crown and his staff are formed out of solid ice.

ABILITIES:

Eldritch can manipulate water in all its forms - ice, snow, liquid, and steam. He can craft weapons out of ice, freeze pools of water, and summon a miniature snowstorm at will, among other things.

He is immune to hypothermia and frostbite, but can still feel the cold to some extent.

Eldritch is completely blind. His crown carries an enchantment that grants him (poor) vision. He uses it only when he really needs to see something, as he doesn't want to become dependent on it. He's used to navigating with a cane and does so quite easily.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Irving

The advisor who has served Eldritch since his coronation. Irving helps him with everything from simple daily tasks to important royal duties. Though they appear to be just master and servant, they actually have a close friendship in private.

TRIVIA:

- Has a giant white bird as a pet. These birds are called 'flurries' and are native to his homeworld. They resemble long-feathered storks as tall as giraffes.

- Along with his bird steed, he also enjoys riding horses in his spare time. The horses in The Snowglobe are very fluffy.
