Roxy Vega / Novadash
the time-traveled hero
🌠 🍀 🌟 🍀 🌠
Roxy seems like the last person you'd expect to be interested in... anything intellectual, really. She's a pure jock — she throws herself into sports, she's impulsive and bullheaded, and anything more complicated than basic algebra makes her bluescreen. Nevertheless, she's endlessly curious about everything, always asking questions to the point of obnoxiousness and getting distracted by her own chain of thought. She has an anxious yet sunny disposition, and looks for the best in all the people she meets.
Roxy Vega was just a normal kid living in Pokey Oaks South. She had a normal mom, a normal dad, and a normal brat of a younger sister. She went to school, as normal kids did, and had a normal time with normal friends.
Then something extraordinary happened. DexLabs, the leader of technological advancement, had announced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: the chance to help test their brand new time machine, along with a complimentary tour of the grounds and the opportunity to meet Dexter, the brain behind it all. Roxy filled out her application on a whim, fully believing she wouldn't be picked, but wouldn't you know it — her congratulations letter came in the mail a few weeks later.
That day at DexLabs was the best time she ever had. Walking the grounds with the other participants, gazing at the marvel of technology, shaking hands with the genius himself — it was a dream come true...
... that takes a sharp turn into a nightmare in a matter of seconds. One moment Roxy's settling in the time machine, and one malfunction later she's shot far into the future. When she comes to in the wreckage of the DexLabs building, Planet Fuse has invaded Earth with his army of fusion monsters, and the resistance, along with Earth's existence, is hanging by a thread. In the chaos of Roxy's arrival, Dexter is able to give her the time machine's core and its blueprints before he, too, fell to the fusion threat.
Luckily, there were enough heroes left in the future to give Roxy a helping hand. Between Numbuh Two, Computress, and Mandark, there was enough brainpower to cobble the time machine back together and send Roxy home, as well as send several messages to the past, each crammed with as much information as possible. Unfortunately, with resources already spread so thinly, it took several weeks to do all of this, even with Roxy getting a crash course in fusion fighting and helping with the effort — long enough for some bad actors to realize their opportunity and make their move.
A few days before she's set to go home, Roxy is approached by a kid while on patrol. Before she knew it, she felt a prick in her arm and promptly blacked out. After coming to this time, in the nearby infirmary, she learns that the kid she saw was likely one of the rogue recruits that had been causing serious trouble since the beginning. But the worst news was when she started displaying weird symptoms and her blood got tested — turns out the kid had injected her with an experimental form of fusion matter. The heroes were able to stabilize her, but synthesizing a true cure wasn't in the cards; her best hope was for someone to use and build on the info in the messages bound for the past to create a cure.
After a somber goodbye to the future, Roxy returns to the past with a silent promise burning in her heart. When the invasion starts and kids start joining the fight, Roxy's one of the first to join the Academy to properly train for the upcoming war. Now, fresh off graduating, Roxy's ready to take the fight straight to Fuse and prevent the future she's seen. Let's hope that rogue group of kids doesn't start organizing in this timeline, or that her condition doesn't advance...
