summary

Though born in Deadgorge, Beatrice would travel far from the her family to settle somewhere a bit more green and cozy, the gloomy woodland town of Rawhide. Here, her mineral bath business would truly find a hold, where travellers will pay for their last taste of warmth before ascending the snowy peaks that stand proud not too far from the limits of the town. Those who have finished the long and dangerous journey down the peaks find comfort here as well, and thus Beatrice's great talent for making customized herb pouches to diffuse in the warm water is greatly appreciated. Some have travelled a great distance for a soak, a fact Beatrice is most proud of.

appearance

Among the tallest of her family, Beatrice is an impressive fourteen feet long when measured from the top of her head to the tip of her rattle, though when standing normally, she is comfortably sixish feet high. With wide hips and shoulders, Beatrice has a heavyset form with a long neck and trailing serpent body. Dried brush skin is dappled with dark brown scales on the elbows and cheeks, as lighter, dustier browns cover her neck and the majority of her body. Large beige scales line her belly and throat, and dark brown stripes line her topside, horizontal over her spine. At the tip of her tail, a large nine-segmented rattle. Small triangular ears frame a round face with slit yellow eyes, further accented by a bob of shiny, deep brown hair.

Bea's wardrobe is well suited for the warm environment of her hotel, with short sleeves and dresses that don't drag to pick up dirt and moisture from the floor. Most of her clothes blend well with her various brown hues, as she enjoys a warm colored and cozier look put together with small accessories such as silk belts and drapes, or gold earrings and bangles. Preferring simple patterns or solid colors, her clothes are always easy to move and work in while still being elegant. As cliche as it may sound, a pearly white and snake fanged smile really does pull her outfits together.

personality

Remarkably hard-working and driven, Beatrice is a great planner and visionary. Blessed with a business oriented mind, choices come easy to her, and she's one to properly think things through within a reasonable time. If something sparks her as unfair, expensive or even too good to be true, she's quick to notice and even quicker to negotiate. After all, she's got a hotel to run, and there's always money to be saved and budgets to be made! Though, even the most forward thinking minds can be caught off guard, and when Bea is faced with a situation she hasn't had the proper time to think over, she tends to get overly flustered.

Her driven attitude is best displayed when she boasts about her baths. Beatrice loves to create custom blends of herbs, spices, salts and flowers to create the perfect bath experience that can do anything from soothe muscle ache or clear away headaches, to mend a broken heart. She's meticulous, keeps her tubs warm and clean, and her customers very happy. Even the roughest of the range folk that come by deserve luxury in the form of soap bubbles and soft sponges.

history

Born in Deadgorge, Beatrice figured from a young age that her dream business would struggle to thrive in a place rife with feuds and bad blood. So, starting as young as one could, she started to amass funds to someday move out of the big city to some small woodland town - an endeavor her family supported and couldn't be more proud of. It was a tearful send off when she was still just a teenager, but thankfully, that careful and cautious mind carried her far. She still delights in seeing her family when they can make the journey all the way over the plains to find her on the other side. For holidays, she closes down the baths and loves to host her family - and any of those looking for a family to spend the day with, too.

Many of her herbs, spices, salts and flowers are boyght from merchants, many of which she has grown very close with. She hopes to someday start her own garden to grow her own supplies, though she's never had too much luck - most of the plants she's tried to grow ended up wilting, as her talents don't seem to be in gardening. This hope of a garden now extends to the hope of meeting some kind gardener that'll help her learn.

trivia

  • Star anise is among her favorites, but it's incredibly difficult to get and expensive to boot, so she rarely uses it and opts to keep a secret stash.
  • Always has a simmer pot going, and is more than happy to devour oranges in order to boil their peels. They're her favorite snack!
  • One of her best selling packages is specially made for reptilian anedyr and other scaled folk, and is made to help folk who are in the midst of shedding their skin.
  • Beatrice is not a night owl by any means. She likes to go to bed at a reasonable hour, and much to her dismay, many of the cowboys like to tease her about this so-called bedtime curfew.
relationships

loved - loved

Cain - An unusual but nonethless very charming man that comes for a soak every now and again. A bit shy, and not one to make too much small talk, but Beatrice knows he tips well and leaves the rooms as clean as they were when he came in. For this reason, she always makes sure to make his bath a bit warmer and his herb pouch a bit stronger, to soothe the aching of his back and hopefully relax the nasty scar that mars his shoulder. Maybe one day she'll ask how he got it.

Stenmær - Has only stopped by a handful of times, after making large deliveries of stone that they've dragged down the mountain. One of the quietest customers she's encountered, and she tries her best not to disturb them as they soak their weary legs, as they always fall asleep. Seems the hotel is a place of rare rest for them.
