Jake was born around the 1720's and lived with his mother, father and younger sister until the age of 13. His parents were both murdered in the streets and stripped of the wealth they carried with them at that time. He and his little sister were left in the care of an aunt who let them do as they wished as long as she could get her hands on some of the family fortune left to Jake and his sister. Jake and his sister were quite happy with the situation, they were not poor and could continue to live together and look after each other. Since they were quite wealthy, they did not need an education or work to survive, and were content to participate in society by going to dances or cocktail parties when they wanted to.
Even though he was already a loner, Jake often went out with girls, including friends of his sister's. His sister sometimes resented him, but most of the time she didn't say anything. Although he was attracted to men as well, Jake could not officially date anyone of his own sex because of the mores of the time and was content to have affairs that he kept as secret as possible.

Jake died at the age of 21, murdered by an ex-girlfriend who unfortunately did not accept their break-up. She'd locked him in a big trunk until  he died.

When he arrived in the afterlife, Jake mostly regretted the idea of not being able to see his sister again, but he finally got used to it after a while, thinking that he would see her again when she died and that he would give her all the time she needed for that. Bored in the afterlife, he decided to take courses there, and spent many decades taking all kinds of courses, even those he wasn't particularly interested in. The one he was most interested in was his specialized course in clothing design, and even more so in shoe design. Being unfortunately not very good in design, he turned to commerce, surprisingly, he was not a bad salesman despite the fact that he prefers solitude.
He had a few romantic love affairs during his life at the Academy, but never anything very serious. Still, he liked to finally be able to date boys at the big time.

His sister died about 25 years after him from illness, he was happy to finally see her again and they spent many years trying to make up for all the time they had lost over the last few decades.

Jake later decided to stop living at the academy and spend time in other cities, sometimes having fun, sometimes being bored, but they never had anything exciting enough to stay. He finally stayed in CastleTown, because he found a best friend there who he felt close to.

He also met love in the nearby town of CastleTown. He first met Agata Rubio, but they were never together despite her mutual feelings. Then he met Eirian, with whom he has been dating for a few years, and with whom it seems serious.
