Powerful beings whose existence to this date is highly debated in the world of the living, even though the gods' presence should be noticeable on Life by the merit of their interactions with sapience as a whole. They build up their power through a following and decide which afterlife their followers will end up in, though the existence of said afterlife is yet another hotly debated topic.
The theatre of the gods is one large political game where mere strength can no longer measure the outcome of a conflict. Every god is linked to one another in at least some way, even if it's through a mutual dislike of each other despite having never conversed.
As one of the most sought after creatures in both life and death, Deimos possesses control over time. Where he once was an angel, he became obsessed with the responsibilities he was handed and left his former home in search of more power. Years of meditation and gradual shifting of his form has turned him into the golden creature he is today - an empowered physical manifestation of his old soul.
It's debatable if he's even real and not some pretty dream people are chasing after, but either way there is no doubt that he has lost his mind long ago by meditating upon the dark energies surrounding him, in contrast to his own light energies. His intentions are simple: to feast upon the strong, to rip their souls out of their body, even literally by devouring the body parts that contain the soul, and to become the most powerful god any living creature has ever seen. One day he shall reshape the world in geometrical perfection.
Ishik Vohgan is one of the gods who claimed the sea as her territory. She protects those who respectfully sail across and embraces those who get lost at sea and grants them a second chance at life beneath the surface. Even if she's the most well known sea god, very few landdwellers know of her existence.
As one of the few other human gods, she always dreamt of becoming a part of the sea, and upon discovering her powers she worked on it until she could become a true guardian. Her benevolence and kindness are a weakness of hers as people have abused it many times before, but she stays true to her principle that every soul deserves another chance.
Under her wing are the demons who were banished to the ocean under the rule of Tomius. By chance they became her followers and grew out to be her principal army in charge of searching for the lost.
The first Mokra to exist, Nordil was found by the ocean god Vohgan after he was turned immortal by the demon god Tomius and left in an eternal coma at the bottom of the sea. He was the first immortal demon to accept her gift, and he started a trend that would cast his brethren as Vohgan's retrievers, since she could not detect the presence of the hundreds of technically already dead fellow demons also doomed to a watery grave.
Tied to both the world of the living and the world of the dead, Benevolence is stuck in the mortal plane as an immortal ghost who can interact with others as she pleases. She's a vigilante who wants to see the world flourish as crime dies out.
After she drowned, she decided to spend her time as a ghost to destroy anything she saw as evil, but after she was awarded the title of Malevolence she changed her position on the use of violence to defeat evil and looked into the idea of empathy and understanding instead.
Her style consists of approaching the people she wishes to change from the idea of wanting to help them, not harm them or stop them. Finding common ground and building on top of that would be a next step, but regularly this wouldn't work on those with a strong conviction of their work and some people are beyond her reach even with her attempts to understand her clients.
It's still a work in progress, but she feels confident that slowly she's getting closer and closer to her goal.
Aveley is one of the mages who mastered every single aspect of magic, but unlike most of these mages he actually worked as a full god. Not a household name, but in powers he had what it took to be a god and he was known in his local province.
He always had a strong attunement to nature, but in past years decided to go back to his roots and retire to live with his badger friends in the woods. He now travels around with his plethora of animal companions, seeking to aid those who are lost in every sense of the word.
