Mayu has been a childhood friend of Hana since they were 5 years old. They met in kindergarten and later found out that they actually lived in the same neighbourhood. Initially, Hana (being the loner type) ignored Mayu who was trying to befriend her. This continued on for a couple of weeks but Mayu never failed in her persistence. During Parents Day in kindergarten, Hana's father could not attend the event due to work, causing Hana to run away due to disappointment. Mayu ended up following her and comforting her as Hana cried in her arms the rest of the afternoon. It was because of this event that led Hana and Mayu's friendship to finally form.

In terms of brains, Mayu is not the smartest of the group (in fact, she's probably the least smartest). What she lacks in brain power, she makes up for her optimism and positivity, always looking at the brighter side in life and giving strength and hope to the people around her. As a friend, Mayu is one of the most loyal, selfless person ever, going as far as to even risk her life and safety to ensure her loved ones are safe. Mayu is the second child in a five children household (she has an older sister in university, the next two after her are twin boys and the last one is a baby sister). Her parents are the sweetest people everr and even considers Hana as their unofficial sixth child. When not taking care of her younger siblings or hanging out with Hana, Mayu tends to play video games, make cosplay costumes or go online shopping.
