This character was originally a firebender, but my interests changed and he's from Tevinter now whoops!

He's a military strategist and quartermaster. He’s very severe and seems like he’d be bad with people, but he’s actually very good at manipulating people to do what he wants.

He prefers to be unobtrusive and avoids direct conflict. He goes unnoticed by most people, and is generally thought of as middle management/a buzzkill.

He's a mage specializing in a self-developed form of pyromancy (three guesses what I based it on fellas). He has no combat experience, and when forced into combat, hangs back and focuses mostly on field control/support.

He's Laetan, born into a decently well-off Soporati merchant family. He had two brothers that he wasn't particularly close to, who both died in combat on Seheron. His father died from illness when he was young, and his mother died of natural causes/ when he was in his 20s.

Due to many influences, he didn't begin to socially transition until he left Tevinter, but he had top surgery in secret and chose androgynous and practical clothing and hairstyles to alleviate dysphoria as best he could.

He finds most social interaction to be boring and tedious, and made only one friend (later boyfriend) in his position as quartermaster: an elf named Kusuma who was an engineer in charge of the crafting of specialized combat equipment. They had to interact a lot because Kusuma had to get Kazutaka to approve any new request for materials, and he had a lot of ideas he wanted to work on. Kusuma has a bad habit of being unintentionally disrespectful due to bluntness and lack of a brain/mouth filter, but Kazutaka appreciates his directness. After [spoilers], they start seeing each other privately.

(I want to make it clear that Kazutaka isn't Kusuma's superior in rank, and while he can determine whether Kusuma receives extra material for special projects, Kusuma already receives a pre-determined amount of stuff that Kazutaka doesn't have control over. Also, Kusuma arguably has a higher social standing than Kazutaka despite being an elf, as he comes from a Laetan house with an extremely strong magical line, while Kazutaka is perceived as a spinster with no house and no heirs.)

I'm still figuring out what I want to do with him! I've written a few things with him as a companion in Inquisition which has been fun, but there are a few different scenarios that I've been considering as well.
