Herutaz

The Inky King.

Occasionally goes by "Sylvanus". His true name is unknown.

Inspired by inky caps, tumblr's antler-y fae aesthetic, and me just chucking all logic out of the window for the sake of pretty things. How does his robe work? I don't know! Amazing, right?

Let's see how long it takes until he grows a personality. Half a day, apparently. I'm surrounded by a bunch of terrible enablers...

Super provisional profile until I figure things out enough to make it look nice:

• The Faerie King of the Cursed Forest
  • ... more or less
  • I mean, they have a rather more loose understanding of "king" and "court" than humans usually assume...
  • ... and they are really more nature spirits in general than specifically Fae...
  • ... but if somebody told one of them to "take me to their leader", they'd understand that to mean him.
• Also, the "cursed forest" is rather less dark, creepy and inaccessible than it once was. 
• He's more willing to deal with humans than the average Fae, and is generally reasonably benevolent. 
• He's... uh, vaguely aware of how human society works, but his knowledge is largely outdated, and frequently that of a distant observer
  • Imagine The Little Mermaid in very tall and ambiguously male and listening to an explanation of Starbucks like he's at a very serious trade conference.
  • he's clever enough to generally stand back and observe when he doesn't know what's going on, though, unlike a certain mermaid.
• He's both quite friendly (in a Benevolent Wise King kind of way), and very, very odd.
• Very calm, very focused, almost comically serious. 
• Not afraid to ask some very weird questions. 
• Not very fond of moving in human society because the antlers don't fit through door frames and people don't appreciate him dripping deeply eldritch ooze everywhere
• Also yeah, he's essentially dripping concentrated darkness. 
  • Interestingly, the amount of that ooze is finite - only a given amount of ooze can exist at the same time, and the oldest blots vanish as newer ones appear
  • Oh, and he can control that stuff.
• Really, really hates littering, pollution, and generally wreaking havoc on the environment. 
• On the other hand, he's so far above personal disrespect towards him that it almost amuses him.
  • he might still scare the crap out of everyone disrespecting him, though, just to prove a point.
