wait when you say his kitsune form is "cursed" do you mean "magic spell cursed" or "uncanny cursed"??

haven't thought much about it xD I think it's more on the uncanny
when he puts on the mask, it functions to deceive spirits, making them unable to recognize him, except, well, the kitsune lol
when they fight against the kitsune it probably possesses the mask at some point and inherits the curse

he has no control over it, so it would be counterproductive, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't
that's why it's rather a curse other than an ability!
