A minor river god/demon traditionally taking the form of an aggressive draconic fish heads to the sea port to investigate rumors of gold, which he hoards at the bottom of the river.
He makes a deal with a more powerful being and is granted a necklace that allows him to take a human form. Unfortunately his penchant for hoarding gold doesn’t lend itself well for buying fine clothes, and he ends up living among the commoners. He takes up temporary work as a fisherman with the intention of becoming a pirate in order to gather more for his hoard.
His true name is Agassizii, but like many dragons, he takes multiple titles. To those who know his human form, he is Vastres.
As a river god, he benefits from the gift of immortality (able to be defeated only by chasing him away or locking him into a sacred item or place), but is only generally a serious threat to those who enter his river or stand on its banks. He can truly be a menace, demanding sacrifices of gold when his hoard stagnates too long.
Near the ocean, he is essentially powerless, forced to live much as humans do. He can still survive in salt water in his draconic form, but this is not his domain.
