Profile

► DOM'KHAR

"... Enough."

Appearance

Eyes: Deep, dark brown (almost black). Hooded and small. He can't open his left eye [if he did, the actual eye looks shrivelled, the pupil+iris is as pale as the sclera], and he can't see out of it.
Skin: Dark red skin, looks weathered from older age and constant sunlight. Bright, puffy scars littered from head to toe on his skin stand out.
Hair: Coarse, tightly curled hair, cleanly shaven. His sideburns are meticulously shaved into a sharp pattern.
Body type: Wide all over-- with undeniably thick muscles across every plane of his body. His shoulders, arms, hands, thighs and calves are especially toned.
Special notes for Dom'Khar's appearance: In terms of scars, the most noticable cluster is on the left side of his face, from his forehead to his lower cheek. His left tusk is chipped in half.
His nose is long and slightly hooked at the bridge-- broken.
He has a resting stern expression-- looks unimpressed or unamused.
As an Orc, he does have the trademarks of his heritage: having short but pointed ears, and thick protruding tusks on his lower set of teeth. Also, for these Orcs specifically, they all have tattoos-- so Dom'Khar's various tattoos are of proper custom; some are gained through social mores, but most are necessary to identify one another's origins... And some are there just due to perpetuated, long-gone ritual customs. One tattoo in particular which places his importance among other Orcs is the worm-like creature that spans from his lower back all the way to his lower torso. That tattoo is noticeably darker than the older more commonplace tattoos.
Okay, important to note, since I forget myself often... But he does have a lot of body hair. It runs from his chest downward.Haha.

Clothing, piercings: Dom'Khar doesn't wear much else beyond a white fundoshi and compress bandages on his lower arms and legs.
For piercings, he has none. When he was a child and adolescent, he had his ears and labret stretched, but having taken it out in his adulthood for his work has meant they've closed up almost all the way.
... It's conventional for Orcs to bring out finer accessories and jewelries for special occasions, but Dom'Khar will only wear jewelry if he's expected at a formal gathering.

Mannerisms: Dom'Khar is confident in himself and his work, so he has a wide stance when standing idle. If he's feeling bored or impatient he is prone to crossing his arms across his chest-- he also does this if he knows he is intimidating to someone.
Has a habit of interrupting people he trusts to speak his opinions over them.
Enjoys invading the personal space of women...

Personality

  • The Warrior can come off stone-cold, bitter, or grumpy by appearance and mannerisms alone, but he's actually quite an impassive man. Not a 'go with the flow' type but more of a 'i'll allow it, but stay in line' type.
  • He puts his job above everything else. He loves his job. He lives FOR his job. It's demanding and rewarding, and the challenge it brings is something that calls to him.
  • He is very confident in everything (it doesn't matter if he doesn't exactly know what he's getting up to, he'll feel and act like he does understand).
  • He doesn't let much get to him, only because it interferes with his work ethic. Even if he wasn't revered among the Orcs, he would still feel like the strongest Orc of all time and act accordingly.
  • He is very respectful publicly. In private he can be quite outspoken on his pushy opinions. He can be difficult to get along with in his stubbornness.
  • The Warrior isn't the brightest Orc in the village (he can't write, can't count, doesn't like reading)... But his intelligence lies within battle, and it exceeds any other Orc's capabilities.
  • Even though he knows he's powerful, his ego cannot be contained and he enjoys being complimented. Repeat offending brown-nosers are welcome to fawn over him at any time, even though he never gives anything in return.

History

Childhood, adolescence, young adulthood:
  • Dom'Khar's childhood was an average blur. From his first steps to adolescence, he never stood up or out for himself, and was oftentimes a point of concern among his family for being too quiet.
  • Around the age of 17, Dom'Khar found himself in a sudden, violent scuffle between three misfit Orcs. He was a bystander that almost lost his life when one of the disorderly Orcs started swinging a huge fist and dagger without aiming properly, while the other two dodged and countered with just as little finesse in Dom'Khar's general area. The altercation lasted a total of 5 minutes but within that span of time, a peacekeeper incapacitated all three troublemakers. It was then, safe and sound, that Dom'Khar felt something so strongly that managed to inspire him for the first time in his life.
  • All throughout his young adulthood he recieved tutelage from the woman that took care of the altercation so effortlessly. She demanded more than Dom'Khar could handle most often, and came off cruel at times, but at the end of her life she made sure to point out that her teachings were only that; nothing more personal than a means to a powerful end, for Dom'Khar to perform with no fears, his strength and accuracy reaching its peaks and beyond.
  • After her life and teachings came to an end, it was a well-known fact that Dom'Khar's settlement could be trusted to be safe and secure in his hands, and possibly in his hands alone. However, he grew tired of living with his family and seeing the same faces (most being women that wanted nothing to do with him). After getting approval from his parents to wander along the other settlements, he said his goodbyes to his immediate family knowing he wouldn't ever return to live with them.
Adulthood/Current life:
  • Not even three weeks into his journey, his over-confidence in direction led him further and further from the settlements. Meandering more toward the desertlands than the coastlines and mountainsides, he fended off various creatures while keeping sustained by the land where he could. A particular mole had been hounding and teasing him in a most infuriating manner until he could handle it no longer, and attempted to violently smash the thing where it had been burrowing along.
At first he thought he had smacked the ground so hard it shook in his wake, but it turns out he had awoken a mythical creature that had been laying dormant, deep underground, for centuries-- a massive wyrm that had been named Lehellion, spoken in what any Orc would think were only legends. The creature was severly agitated and out for peace by expelling all distractions... In this case, Dom'Khar (and the damned mole). He defended himself against Lehellion as best as he could, but in the aftermath he was severely winded and battered. The sandwyrm only increased in frenzied agitation from that point and lashed at Dom'Khar's face when burrowing back underground-- thus the the left side of his face was practically ripped apart. [It's a wonder it healed so nicely!]
The mole managed to only aggravate Lehellion as much as Dom'Khar had, and even though they had both managed to get some bites, scratches, cuts and gaping wounds into Lehellion's chitin down into the soft fleshy skin all over, it wasn't until Lehellion was worn down from his own energy that he burrowed back, deep into the underground, in defense.
  • It was a surreal, overwhelming, painful and disorienting experience for Dom'Khar, and unfulfilling for a man full of selfish ideals. All that the sandwyrm had managed to leave behind was a tooth that had lay along the chitin near his mouth. Dom'Khar took the tooth (which, to be fair, Lehellion is around 25ft, so the tooth was pretty massive) as a memento, and proof of his hardship. He knew immediately that he would have to lie about the encounter if he were to ever be taken seriously-- not to mention encountering and slaying a myth would escalate his status into something so special no one could deny him ever again.
  • He used the last of his energy to stumble near a settlement and recieve aid... And while he rested, he began weaving a tale of defeating Lehellion, the piece de resistance in the tooth that was hard to ignore and doubt.
  • In the months that he began to come to terms and work around his impaired vision, he traveled the smaller settlements to share his tale. He wanted to become a stable peacekeeper in the largest Orc settlement, but that was at the back of his mind when he was being treated so heroically and lavishly. Never had he been able to take a full day of relaxation without reprimand before this status! It was heavenly to him.
  • It didn't take but 9 months before he grew tired of being pampered in the smaller settlements. He used up all of their kindness and, after getting his sandwyrm tattoo in honor of his feats did he finally make his way toward the Clan'Ket settlement with intention of using their kindness as well. Little did he know that the Clan'Ket family themselves were in such disarray that Dom'Khar merely came off as an accessory in the barely-contained chaos of their population and government.

Abilities

Unique Abilities

  • Orcish Constitution: Can withstand great physical pain compared to an average human.
Orcish stomachs are made of much stronger stuff and can handle raw foods, and on occasion, bone and stones.
Due to the Orcish Coast's constantly warm-to-hot climate, almost all Orcs can withstand high temperatures (up to 120°F) and high humidity.
Skillset

  • Weapons: Dom'Khar is most proficient with his hands, but truly enjoys working with weapons of all types and learning about them.
... If he had enough time, one could say that training and acquiring weapons would be his hobby!
  • Orcish Strength: Stronger than most species on Oakkha, adult Orcs are capable of lifting 200 lb.s on average.
  • Defense: A master at deflecting attacks-- this means more often than not he can successful defend himself against even a sneak-attack.

Relationships

Trivia

  • He was born on November 12th (Scorpio♏)
  • It's more common for Dom'Khar to be called 'The Warrior' than by his name. Even his husband, Monti, calls him 'Warrior' more than 'Dom'Khar'!
  • I know it's annoying, but you gotta capitalize the K after the apostrophe, and I never shorten his name to Dom. lol.
...Though I can see it being funny or interesting for a blunder to happen if someone does shorten his name like that?
  • Is easily enraptured with the fairer sex and has a strong libido. You put two and two together...
Due to his infertility, many prospective lovers avoid him. Infertility in Orcish society is seen as a major weakness, but since Dom'Khar's strengths cancel that out, he's pretty much on even playing field for that 'disadvantage' (this is another reason why he was fine with marrying Monti).
  • There's an Orcish poem specifically made to tell Dom'Khar's feat. You can read it here! [the art is a mess and severely wrong though lmao OTL]
  • My husband actually made Dom'Khar's design. The only thing I changed about him were the tattoos!
