A living machine, created by the Pseudomonarchia specifically to transform non-demon beings into demons.
It bathes the unfortunate target in dark fire - should the victim survive, they will mutate into a demon.
Otherwise, they simply perish.
What causes some to change while others die is not clear, but it is thought to be due to personality.
