Born to a mother who is a world-renowned vampire hunter, and the founder of Saint's Academy. Raised from day one to be a vampire killing machine. And that's about all they knew. When they were enrolled in their mother's academy, they met Lucien and Helsie. Both were weird and annoying. Insisting on following them on their hunts. Having two complete amateurs, only trained in the basics of the academy, toddling behind them on something so high stakes. They were fools. With some guidance, however, they proved their worth as allies. In return, they taught Joni what a friend was. What it felt like to love, and be loved back. What family felt like. During their 3rd year, that's when things got messy. Joni wasn't prepared for what they didn't know about their father. He'd been a vampire. And now Joni was becoming one too. They took a page out of Lucien's book, and started wearing a mask to cover the fangs that had grown in. Helsie caught on quickly to what was going on, even when Joni denied anything. She didn't press for information, or pry. She just offered a shoulder for comfort, or her wrist for sustenance. Joni never said anything, but was grateful. They started to question if they wanted to follow in their mother's footsteps. If they even wanted to hunt vampires at all. During this time, Lucien had disappeared. His own family had been killed by vampires. Joni felt afraid of what Lucien might think. Helsie assured them that he wouldn't care, ultimately, but they could wait till the time felt right. But for now, they need to hunt him down, and make sure he's okay. After they catch up with Lucien, I haven't thought too much about what happens. Ultimately Lucien's okay with the vampire thing, as long as Joni's safe. But idk how all that goes down, or what happens after LOL!!
