| Short description Albrikt might make an impression of a big scary guy, but he's actually caring and loving person who's always willing to become someone's parental figure. Son of very rich man who "revived" the Hillade city, now - the head of the Bertil family and one of the richest and the most influencing people in Hillade. In the past Albrikt was a great fighter who created the team to fight against group of ruffians and robbers led by Yngvar Reistad, protecting Hillade from the constant chaos. Father of Amaralf, Adalstein and Amelia, but actually - he would love to be a Papa for every child. Very loyal, cheerful and helpful. In the past he was often letting Amaralf's friends to stay in their mansion, so he knows almost all of the new team's members. He especially cared about little Taris and helped her in the hardest times, also encouraged her to finish her school. His wife never truly loved him, she probably married him only for the money, but for a long time Albrikt was unaware of it - or maybe he really didn't want to notice it, what makes him now ashamed of himself, because the presence of that horrible mother was making their children deeply upset. Anastasja has left him soon after she gave born to her youngest child, stealing big amount of money from the Bertils. Currently Albrikt still cares about both Hillade city and Braivada village and supports Amaralf and Ester'sproject a lot, but he is not a fighter anymore. He owns a winery and mainly works in this place now, but he is always ready to help his old friends if there's a need. He lives in a big house with his mother, grandmother (!) and his daughter Amelia, but sometimes he feels lonely there. Despite he's a truly good soul, there are some things that Albrikt can't forgive himself. Basically everyone from the younger generation calls him Papa. |
| Personality He's a very strong, brave and unyielding man, known for his prowess and being generous. He used to be a great leader in the past and all people in the city respected him - and of course, they still do, because he's quite important person there. Albrikt has actual impact on Hillade's society - but he knows that he'll never be as influential as his father, Elmo. He is optimistic and faithful person, never wants to give up and it's not easy to scare him. Loves his family and generally is very friendly, helping people makes him happy. Responsible and fair. He's a bit naive if it comes to relations with people and sometimes seems to be blind for some things that bother others. Can be vindictive, but not cruel if it's not necessary. Even though he's probably the richest man in the city, he doesn't matter about that, money isn't the most important thing for him - not anymore. Would love to bring back his whole family and live with them in one house, but he's aware that it's just a dream that could never be fulfilled. Currently he might be not as happy as he used to be, because there are moments when he feels quite useless and lonely, but he knows his "retirement" was necessary and is glad that there is no need to protect Hillade from ruffians anymore. Really enjoys getting involved in Hillade's or Braivada's matters and will always stand by the side of people close to him. Still cares about his old friends. Albrikt is tolerant for everything that make his children happy, even if these are quite strange things (not every 19th century father would accept 1) the fact his first son is gay, 2) the fact his second son married a witch, 3) his daughter expects a baby not being married to a man). |

| Relations Amaralf - His younger son and probably the one child he cares the most about. In the past Albrikt really didn't want him to become a fighter and to follow his steps, but in the end he accepted that and felt really proud of him. Actually he wasn't able to punish him in any serious way when he was a child, the only thing he could've done was just using some harsh words and never cared about that Amaralf is a spoiled brat. He knows that his son had committed a lot of mistakes, but still loves him and often offers him help. He wishes he could visit him more often. After Amaralf decides to leave Braivada, Albrikt is deeply worried about him, but he tries to accept his choice. He is aware that Amaralf and Ester's relationship doesn't look perfect, but he doesn't want to bother them in any way. Adalstein - His older son; they're not very close now, but have rather good relations. Adalstein is completely different from Amaralf and lives far away from their city, so he doesn't visit his family often. Albrikt knows that he is not like the others and has different priorities, but still accepts him and is proud of the path he chose. Adalstein is a great buisnessman in other country and prefers to stay away from Hillade, Braivada, halcylians and ruffians. For a long time it used to be a secret, but he has a partner there. A male partner. Despite it completely shocked Albrikt, he had never rejected him or even his partner, but really doesn't want the rest of the family to discover this secret. Amelia - His only daughter, youngest child; he seems to be overprotective about her and wants her to have the life of a princess. He has a trouble understanding when she finally decides that she wants to change her life and become a nurse, but he learns to accept it. In the past he always wanted to have a daughter, so she is very precious for him. He is optimistic about her relationship with Kieran from Amaralf's team. Anastasja - His ex-wife; she was his only love and he admired her since he was young. She also liked him a bit, so she decided to accept his feelings - especially because that she discovered he's very wealthy. She was his wife for about 15 years, but it was all because of his money - she never truly loved him, while he was believed she really does. He never noticed how bad is her acting and couldn't stop her from using his money, he was completely blinded by her; he also seemed to ignore the fact she never cared about their children. One day she stole a lot of his money and ran away from him. He would probably have never get rid of this woman from his house by hisself. Of course now he realises how wrong he was and apologizes his children for that - he still feels guilty, because for 10 years Anastasja was treating them very coldly and he didn't do anything about this. Taris - In the past Albrikt used to treat her as his own daughter and helped her a lot. She and Adam came to his house when they were trying to find Adam's grandfather, a member of Albrikt's team. When Taris was a teen, Albrikt sometimes let her live in his house, but his wife really disliked her, so he had to change something about it. He told young Taris to live in his friends' houses for some time (basically she was homeless, but all the fighters from Albrikt's team let her living with them). Albrikt was also paying for her school after she decided to come back there. He never believed that she had murdered someone (besides Yngvar, the leader of evil ruffians). In the fact, by killing Yngvar, Taris saved Albrikt's life, because the leader of the bandits was planning to murder him next day. After many years he still cares about her and tries to help her when she becomes accused of horrible crimes that she never committed. Albrikt would NEVER believe that the Froilands are murderers, he refuses to suspect anything about them. Actually, Taris hadn't always thought about Albrikt in a good way, because he - as the leader of the old team fighting with bandits - had found Marko (her first papa, ex-bandit who murdered five people) - and somehow sentenced him to death. Albrikt was feeling a bit guilty about it, but he knew that it was the most righteous thing he could've done, because the whole city hated this man. And he had to be a hero after all. Taris accepted this fact after many years, but it was very hard for her and still misses Marko. Maybe that's also why Albrikt cared so much about her in the past, he tried to appease her somehow. Ester - His daughter-in-law; at fist he wasn't sure about her, but later he changed his mind, thinking she is simply fascinating. He never had problems with accepting the fact his son wants to marry a poor woman, it didn't mean anything for Albrikt. Ester was the first halcylian Albrikt has ever met (at least... consciously). He became quite bewitched by her and quickly started to respect her. Deep inside Albrikt was very glad when SHE made the first step and asked Amaralf to marry her. He never liked that younger Amaralf had so many affairs and played with many girls' feelings, so he had a hope that Ester will finally stop this, knowing that Amaralf truly fell in love for the first time. He sees her as really strong, intriguing person and wishes Braivada the best, but never gets too deep in the halcylians' stuff. He doesn't know much about how her relationship with Amaralf looks like, but he suspects it's not the best. Adam - In the past Albrikt was treating Taris like his own child, but he also cared about Adam too, however, he was more independ and not as mentally broken as Taris was, so he didn't need that much support. Adam had met Albrikt for the first time when he was around 14; in this time he was trying to reach to his legendary grandpa Hilmer who also was in the old team. They still have good relations and Albrikt is always willing to help the Froilands whenever they need it. He doesn't believe that they could be murderers. Ignacjus - One of Albrikt's best friends, member of the old team, owner of a tavern in Braivada, father of twins Ignis and Irdolf. Iggy has always been impressed that Albrikt "noticed" him and befriend him, even though he was just a simply poor man. They became pretty close when the team started its activity, Their kids were basically raised together and went to the same school. Albrikt and Iggy hey still visit each other a lot. Old team - The old team was much bigger than current Amaralf's team, but Albrikt tried to be the best leader as he could. He wasn't so close with all of the members, though - some of them were there only just to do their job. He still has good relations with some of them and keeps in touch with them. His most trusted people were Charles Kampen (related to Sigurd from Amaralf's team) and Andries Christoffersen (uncle of Tilda, Fred's wife), who also were his childhood friends. Mother & Grandma - Yes, Albrikt's mother is still alive, she's in her 80s and does pretty well. Albrikt treats her with respect, but he knows that this woman definitely hides some secrets about her husband, Elmo. She moved in to Albrikt's house after Elmo had died. And yes! Michaela's mother-in-law is still alive as well. The Great Grandma Virgilia is 114 years old when the story starts. She barely remembers anything and keeps mistaking family members, but she seems to be always happy. For some reason all the women in this family have very long lifespans... it really doesn't apply for men. |
| Other info - He's deadly allergic to bees (what is kinda funny concidence because Taris' first papa Marko was called Mr Bee by her...and later Albrikt sentenced him to death...well, maybe not so funny) - He owns a herd of reindeers which he truly loves. He would be a perfect Santa. - One of his biggest wishes is to be a grandpa. It becomes true, because when Amelia gets pregnant, Albrikt has a grandson named Kieran Albrikt. Actually, this might not be his first grandchild - there is a chance that Amaralf has a child that he's not aware about (not with Ester, for sure). - Albrikt always holds a huge Christmas party in his house. He invites his whole family, even those persons who don't like him at all, like his half-siblings. - Despite Bertil family is known for being really wealthy, Albrikt remembers times when he lived rather poor life as a kid. It was his father who made this family that rich. - Albrikt is completely unaware of his father's connection with Silorind and Arevalte - and what he had done to save his whole family from Arevalte in 1866. Even after Amaralf gets to know about it, he decides to keep it as a secret from Albrikt, thinking it might ruin his perceiving of Elmo. - When his children were still small kids, he used to have a huge dog which he loved. This dog was super nice and cuddly, but only for Albrikt - he was extremely aggresive towards others. - He always cares about his beard and hopes that Amaralf will grow as amazing beard as his own someday. |
