Rosalind Lovelace

"I might be bad at math, but I can say with hundred percent accuracy that unless you don't hide me right now I'm going to get detention for the rest of the month!" 

The youngest daughter of the prestigious Lovelace family, Rosalind hardly acts like a girl of her age and standing is expected to act: impulsive and reckless, she usually speaks her mind whether or not she is asked to, and isn’t necessarily the best at dealing with the social pressures of the higher society. In this regard she pales in comparison to her older brothers, Claude and Lawrence, who both are extremely adept in dealing with the grace and tact required for their standing. However, what Rosa lacks in exquisite social manners, she makes it up with her confidence and verbal skills: she always speaks from the heart, means what she says and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she considers to be right, no matter how much the societal pressure would want her to stay quiet. Perhaps for this reason, however, she is often not present in the many parties the Lovelace family is invited to.

Rosalind goes to an all-female school and her love for women hasn't gone unnoticed by any. Her demeanor is noted to be masculine by many, and she dreams of becoming a guard for “a beautiful noblewoman” when she grows up. Despite her stubborn and impulsive nature, however, she’s a very kind and supportive friend, and very easy to get along with. 

She idolizes Rosemarie, her senior in high school, and also happens to be a relative to Rosemarie's best friend, Ilja.

Appearance

Rosalind is a girl of average height, with a lean but muscular body as a result of her physical training in fencing. Although her puberty has clearly started, she retains a relatively androgynous body shape,  and during her free time often dresses to further make people question her gender.

She has a fair skin with long, yellow-blonde hair and bright green eyes that are framed by long eyelashes. She also has a dark mole under her left eye. Her nose is small and pointy, and her lips are distinctively red in color compared to her complexion. She is usually seen wearing her long, wavy hair open, but can occasionally be seen wearing either a high or low ponytail, depending on her mood. Although she and Claude look similar, Rosa's doesn't have the kind of sanpaku eyes Claude has.

Rosa is often seen wearing her private school’s uniform with a red dress with long sleeves and a slight filling in the shoulders. The end of her sleeves are white and decorated with lace, and she also wears a natural white, pullover vest on her upper body. She also wears dark stockings and black shoes. During her free time she prefers to wear pants over skirts solely for practical reasons, but is no stranger to skirts and dresses, and enjoys wearing them when the situation is appropriate for it. She sometimes steals Claude’s clothes to wear.

Personality

Rosalind is characterized by her impulsiveness: she often speaks out of turn, acts before she thinks and doesn’t always really wight the different sides of things before making her decision. She is very much controlled by her own curiosity, often leading her to places and situations she would have had no place to be in. She's also adventurous, adjusting to new things easily and can think on her feet, often even trusting her instincts to guide her. She also has a strong sense of morals, albeit they might not always align with what is perceived as the norm. Nevertheless, she is never afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right - for better or worse.

Although not much of a smooth talker like her brothers, Rosalind still knows how to make a good first impression when she wishes to, and does have enough charisma and verbal skills to appear as persuasive. She is also good at bluffing, a skill useful not only among the higher class, but also at school when she arrives to the classroom late or with her homework left undone. She isn’t necessarily the most trustworthy of people because of her somewhat fickle disposition, but usually has her heart in the right place, and she makes a loyal friend to others. Furthermore, she loves to serve people and help them out in any ways she can, sometimes downright pushing herself on people with the hopes she can pretend to be their knight.

She makes friends easily and has a very favorable position among her peers as a whole, and she's very loyal to those she bonds with. Occasionally, however, she loves to boast to other girls with the hopes they would find her more impressive and attractive, and tends to get competitive around boys and men. Rosalind has a strong drive to succeed and prove her worth, and might sometimes overdo it if she feels desperate or thinks she might lose. She’s also very physically affectionate with others, making it often hard to tell when she’s actually flirting seriously, and when she's just being platonically affectionate. Rosalind isn’t necessarily the best with the feelings of others either, and although she isn’t rude by any means, she might misunderstand them or accidentally make a situation worse by not thinking it through.

History

Born as the youngest child, Rosalind undoubtedly got the most attention from her parents. 6 years younger than her brother Lawrence but only barely a year younger than Claude, the two youngest siblings were often seen together, although for the first years of her life Rosalind was often on the mercy of Claude and his antics. Nevertheless, Claude was simultaneously fiercely protective of her, and the two grew up having a seemingly chaotic but deep inside quite loving relationship. Due to their similar features, however, the two were often confused for each other.

Rosa was always fascinated by the swords some of the guards carried, as well as the ones her father had put up on their living room wall as decorations. When Claude was introduced to fencing, Rosalind also insisted on wanting to learn it, and it didn’t take long until it was apparent for everyone which one of the siblings was more interested in this noble sport. Further inspired by the stories of soldiers and knights her brother Lawrence used to read to her, Rosalind now takes any chance she can get to train herself and practice fencing.

Currently Rosalind is attending an all-female boarding school a few hours away from her home. She idolizes Rosemarie, a girl from the high school she has heard a lot of exciting stories of, and has even talked to her a few times. Rosa eagerly wishes to impress Rosemarie, and become just as known and loved within the school as her idol is.

Skills/ABILITIES

• Good at fencing, despite the fact she has not been training even for two whole years. She shows quite a lot of promise, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed from others either.
  
  
• Physically quite strong for a girl her age. This has a lot to do with the fact Rosalind is very active and intentionally tries to work out to stay in good fitness. She also seems to enjoy boasting off with her strength to the other girls, with the hopes they’d find her more attractive.
  
  
• Although not particularly eloquent, Rosalind can be a convincing talker when she just really wants to be. It's just that most of the time she's thinking on her feet and navigating on her impulses, and isn't all that often met by situations where she has to demonstrate her talking skills.
  
  
• Can sing alright and has a relatively wide range, but isn't too into it - she prefers leaving music to Claude.
  
  
• Alright at school, but isn’t very interested in school beyond PE. Furthermore, her constantly unfinished homework and shenanigans at school tend to result in her grades being dropped solely for her behavior.
  
  
• Extremely good at finding herself in places where she shouldn't be in, but likewise she's quite an escape artist when she's faced with trouble. 
  
  

Trivia

• It’s noted that she and Claude look almost identical, despite their different age and sex. This is probably contributed by the fact both of the siblings have a very androgynous quality to their appearance, and they both are taking strongly after their mother. In turn Lawrence looks distinctively different from his other family members, to the point Claude used to bully him by telling Lawrence he's actually adopted.
  
  
• She usually borrows clothes from Claude’s wardrobe - it’s not like he will even notice, given how many outfits he owns. Likewise Rosa herself has no abundance of clothes, but simply enjoys borrowing from others, including her friends.
  
  
• Enjoys riding, but isn’t particularly interested in horses beyond that. She's also somewhat clumsy around animals, as a result of not getting very used to handling them. She's often a tad too loud and restless for most animals to feel perfectly content with her.
  
  
• She’s very physical with people regardless if she has feelings for them or not, which is why it’s often difficult to tell when she is flirting and being affectionate for fun. This doesn’t seem to bother others though, and Rosalind is very adored by her classmates and even those below her class.
  
  
• She and Claude are very bratty siblings who bicker a lot and try to push each other as they fight who gets to use the bath first. They do love each other, even if it might not be apparent to people at first. Although well aware Claude can hold his ground, to a certain degree she also feels protective of him.
