"Despite everything, I want to live."
Speckle is a little spotted ratfish. They were already isolated as is, as they had accustomed to a nocturnal lifestyle due to their deep sea nature. Their large eyes are sensitive to the sunlight, so they prefer to walk at night.
Having no parents, Speckle spent a good chunk of time totally alone, unable to find help mostly due to her nature of being nocturnal. She took that to her advantage, and survived a very surprising amount of time by scavenging at night through people's trash for food. In the daytime, Speckle could barely manage as she really could not see. Eventually, her and Solas found one another and after him feeding her ONCE, she stuck to him and wouldn't let him go :)

Speckles' adopted father. He found her late at night, fending for herself by digging through garbage. He fed her only once, and has been following him ever since.
Solas' wifee, making her Speckles' adopted mother. Her overt kindness is slowly filling an empty hole in Speckles' little heart, fulfilling her little dreams of having a mother who adores her own child.
